The 2025 Vietnam Triathlon Championship took place at Tam Chuc tourist area, Ha Nam province on the morning of April 13. Lam Quang Nhat (HCMC) won the individual event after completing a 750m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run in 1 hour 0 minute 36 seconds.

This achievement not only helped Lam Quang Nhat win the gold medal, but also beat the national record of 23 seconds set by himself in 2024. He revealed that the reason for the improved performance was "mainly because the running part has improved a lot compared to last year".

Lam Quang Nhat shared after winning and breaking the national triathlon record in 2025: "In 2024, Nhat set a national record of 1 hour 58 seconds in Quang Ngai. This year, the result of 1 hour 36 seconds helped me shorten 23 seconds, mainly thanks to the running part which has improved a lot compared to last year. Fortunately, with many efforts, among the Vietnamese athletes participating in the competition, Nhat still maintained the best swimming time, best cycling time and best running time.

The Japanese socialized training program in Phuket (Thailand) has only gone 1/4 of the way. I will return to Phuket to continue training until the end of November to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in December in Thailand.

Lam Quang Nhat started out as a top Southeast Asian swimmer. Today, Nhat was able to prove that his cycling ability is among the top among international athletes. Compared to his 4:01 pace last year, this year Nhat's 3:44 pace has also improved a lot."

After retiring from the green track in 2017, Nhat turned to professional triathlon and achieved many successes in domestic and international triathlon competitions. He is currently aiming for success at the 33rd SEA Games in the triathlon event.
