According to Gaming Bolt , Microsoft has officially welcomed Activision Blizzard to Xbox after the CMA approved the company's acquisition in the UK. The original deadline for the decision was October 18 and the deal is worth $68.7 billion. Once completed, studios like Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Blizzard Entertainment, King, and many other developers will be part of Xbox.

Xbox welcomes iconic Activision Blizzard games

"As a team, we will learn, innovate, and continue to deliver on our promise to bring gaming joy and community to more people," Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said in a post on Xbox Wire.

“Together, we will create new worlds and stories, bringing your favorite games to more places, so more players can play. And we will engage and delight players in new, innovative ways in the places they love to play, including mobile, cloud gaming, and more.”

Although announced early last year, the deal still needs approval from a number of regulators around the world, including the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which is still pursuing Microsoft’s efforts to block the deal. The UK’s CMA also initially blocked the deal, until changes were made, including Microsoft granting Ubisoft cloud streaming rights for Activision Blizzard games.

This is the latest in a series of acquisitions by the Xbox maker. Previously, the company has acquired studios such as Obsidian Entertainment, Double Fine Productions, Ninja Theory,...

Big-name games like Diablo IV and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 won't be coming to Game Pass right away, though. But other Activision games will be coming to Xbox's gaming service soon.
