(Dan Tri) - Duror Primary School is one of the smallest schools in Scotland (UK).
The school currently has only two students. Local authorities had planned to close the school, but strong opposition from the local community allowed the small school to continue operating.

Duror Primary School has been in operation since 1877. It is attended by children living in the village of Loch Linnhe. If the school were to close, children from the village would have to go to another school 13km away.
Although Duror School currently has only two students, locals believe the school needs to continue operating, in preparation for the arrival of primary school students in the village.

Locals say the authorities have plans to build more new housing in the village over the next five years, which will attract people from other localities to live there.
Therefore, closing the primary school would reduce the attractiveness of the village to households with young children. Therefore, many believe that having a primary school available would be a "plus" for Loch Linnhe.
Faced with the consensus and reasonable arguments of local people, the authorities have temporarily suspended the plan to close the school.
