Promoting cooperation between Quang Binh and PUM organization (Netherlands)

(QBĐT) - On the morning of March 20, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with the delegation of PUM (Netherlands) led by Mr. Sven Dekker, National Coordinator, Chief Representative of PUM in Vietnam. Attending were representatives of relevant departments, branches and the Office of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the meeting, representatives of PUM in Vietnam informed about resources, operational purposes and programs and projects supported in Vietnam and Quang Binh in recent times.

Accordingly, PUM is an organization operating under the management of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, established in 1978 with the goal of supporting small and medium enterprises in developing countries through consulting.

Mr. Sven Dekker, Chief Representative of PUM in Vietnam, informed about PUM's resources and operational purposes.

The organization has more than 1,200 senior experts, implementing more than 2,000 projects each year in more than 30 countries in many fields. To date, PUM has provided free support to more than 2,000 senior experts to advise, helping to establish relationships with Dutch businesses for small and medium enterprises in Vietnam.

In Quang Binh, in 2017-2018, through the connection of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands, PUM came to work and provide consulting support to a number of businesses.

Currently, PUM is supporting consultants to improve capacity in obstetric care for TTH Quang Binh General Hospital and develop adventure tourism and outdoor tourism for NETIN Travel Quang Binh Company.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan presented a souvenir to Mr. Sven Dekker.

Discussing at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan and representatives of the provincial departments and branches wished to participate and cooperate effectively in a number of programs to support senior consultants and improve the capacity of PUM.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan expressed his thanks to PUM and Mr. Sven Dekker personally for visiting, working and giving attention and support to Quang Binh. He expressed his hope that PUM would soon implement activities to support consultants in Quang Binh as discussed at the meeting.

He assigned the task to the Center for Public Financial Services and Investment Promotion, under the Department of Finance, to be the focal point to coordinate with PUM in implementing consulting support contents on building and implementing development strategies for sectors and fields such as: Health, tourism, education, construction; supporting associations, Young Entrepreneurs Association, small and medium enterprises in the province in consulting on business development, promotion strategies, corporate governance, development of adventure tourism products, etc.

Comrade Hoang Xuan Tan sent his best wishes to Mr. Sven Dekker and the PUM organization for a successful term of office, leaving many marks in Vietnam and Quang Binh.
