- An Giang - a land rich in potential of the Mekong Delta, is facing a great opportunity to break through and achieve the target of GRDP growth of over 10% by 2025. To make this goal a reality, the province needs high determination, the participation of the entire political system, and the consensus of the people and businesses. With synchronous and effective solutions, An Giang can completely realize this goal, creating a premise for sustainable development in the future.

Aspiration for development

The year 2025 is of special significance, marking the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country and the year of holding Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress, entering a new era - the era of national development. In the spirit of seriously implementing the Central's instructions, in 2025, the province set 17 targets demonstrating its determination to break through and rise strongly. Accordingly, the economic growth target (GRDP) of 10% or more is a clear demonstration of An Giang's development aspirations. To achieve this goal, the province sets specific targets, including: GRDP per capita reaching 75 million VND/person/year, total social investment capital of 50,563 billion VND, export turnover of 1,230 million USD and budget revenue of 8,471 billion VND.

Not only focusing on economic growth, An Giang also focuses on social development, improving the quality of life of the people. This is demonstrated through indicators such as: Urbanization rate reaches 45%, 55% of schools meet national standards, 73% of trained workers, the number of workers with new jobs increases by 5%, the rate of multidimensional poverty decreases by an average of 0.5 - 1.2%/year, reaching a rate of 11 doctors/10,000 people, 28.7 hospital beds/10,000 people, 17.64% of the labor force participates in social insurance, the rate of health insurance participation reaches 95% and 90% of state agencies complete e-government. In addition, the province pays special attention to developing new rural areas (NTM), with the goal of having 6 more communes meeting NTM standards, 2 communes meeting advanced NTM standards, 1 commune meeting model NTM standards, and 96.5% of the rural population being provided with clean, hygienic water.

Provincial leaders pay attention and create favorable conditions for production and business enterprises.

According to Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc, implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee has developed an economic growth scenario for 2025 under the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch 140/CD-TTg. In which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 4.8%; the industry and construction sector increased by 16.15%; the service sector increased by 12.15%; product tax minus product subsidies increased by 4.02%. The province has developed a growth scenario with specific targets for each quarter.

High determination, drastic action

Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc said that in order to achieve a growth rate of 8% or more in 2025, striving for GRDP of over 10% according to the province's conditions, An Giang focuses on disbursing public investment capital to reach over 95% according to the direction of the Prime Minister; the source of raw materials for the construction of key projects must be ensured; legal problems of off-budget projects must be resolved in the first quarter of 2025 for implementation; agricultural, aquatic and livestock production must meet or exceed the set plan in the direction of improving quality and value; industrial production must continue to develop, expand markets and new orders. Along with that, facilities and infrastructure serving tourism activities must be improved to serve tourists, increase spending for tourists; credit capital must be guaranteed for production and business according to business needs.

Focus on implementing 4 groups of tasks and solutions to maintain growth in key sectors and fields. Accordingly, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector will continue to restructure agricultural production towards increasing value, efficiency and sustainable development; applying high technology, organic agriculture and clean agriculture, linking production with preservation, processing and consumption of products. Strive for an added value of 4.8%; total rice output is estimated at 4.1 million tons; aquatic product output is estimated at 737,500 tons, of which the farming area is about 2,915 hectares.

Continue to promote support policies for enterprises to recover and develop production, especially in the processing and manufacturing industry. Timely handle investment problems in industrial parks and clusters in the province, to ensure land allocation for secondary projects to implement project investment. Complete planning and prioritize the development of deep processing factories for agricultural and aquatic products right in the raw material areas; develop the energy industry, especially solar power, waste-to-energy, biomass power projects... strive for an industrial production index (IIP) increase of 14.48% over the same period.

Continue to closely monitor market developments to promptly propose solutions to ensure supply and demand of goods, stabilize the market, and develop the distribution system. Strengthen market inspection and control, prevent and combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, price listing, especially for rice, pork, gasoline, etc. Strengthen support for businesses, promote domestic and foreign trade to introduce, advertise, connect product consumption, and expand export markets. Strive for total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue to reach 140,000 billion VND; export turnover is estimated at 1,230 million USD. Strive for total tourist arrivals to be over 10 million, total revenue to reach 10,800 billion VND...

Continue to implement tasks and solutions to remove bottlenecks, difficulties and obstacles for production and business; reform administration, improve the business environment, promote investment attraction. Implement policies and mechanisms to encourage and give incentives to investment in industrial parks, clusters, and functional areas of border economic zones; increase budget revenue and promote disbursement of public investment capital in 2025... To realize these challenging goals, the entire political system of the province has been demonstrating innovation and breakthroughs with high determination, great efforts, drastic actions, striving to successfully achieve the set goals, contributing to the development of Uncle Ton's homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
