Accelerating the construction progress of Provincial Road 822B project

Provincial Road 822B was started in early January 2025.

Project DT822B has a length of 11.4km , starting point intersecting with DT825 (Tan My commune, Duc Hoa district), ending point intersecting with DT838 (My Thanh Bac commune, Duc Hue district).

Regarding compensation and site clearance, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment - Vo Minh Thanh said that the DT822B project through Duc Hoa district is organizing payment to 199 households and 3 organizations, with an area of ​​over 21 hectares (100% of the area), the amount of more than 196 billion VND. There is only more than 321 million VND left in additional money and resettlement support in unclaimed money.

The project in Duc Hue district has so far paid 84/88 households, with an area of ​​over 13.2ha/over 13.4ha (reaching 97.91%), with an amount of 51.6/59.1 billion VND.

“There are still 4 cases where there is no agreement on the compensation price and there are different opinions. Duc Hue District People's Committee is continuing to propagate and mobilize the remaining households to receive compensation,” said Mr. Vo Minh Thanh.

According to the Department of Construction, phase 1 of the DT822B project has a total investment of nearly 920 billion VND, with a scale of a level IV plain road, a 7m wide asphalt concrete road surface, a 9m wide roadbed; the bridge section will build small bridges, medium bridges crossing existing canals and ditches, and a large bridge crossing the Vam Co Dong River with a load capacity of HL93, a bridge width of 13m.

The next phase will invest in completing the planned 6-lane road with a 30m wide roadbed.

The project was cleared within a 30m radius, with a total area of ​​nearly 35 hectares, affecting 287 households and 7 organizations.

According to the plan, the construction package of DT822B road from Vam Co Dong bridge to DT838, Duc Hue district, worth nearly 125 billion VND, will be implemented from the beginning of 2025 to July 2026.

The remaining packages, including the section from DT825 to Ho Chi Minh Road (valued at nearly VND53 billion) and the section from Ho Chi Minh Road to Vam Co Dong Bridge (valued at nearly VND64 billion), will start construction in early 2025 and are expected to be completed in March 2026.

DT822B Project is a vital route connecting My Quy Tay National Border Gate to the Eastern and Western provinces of the South through Ho Chi Minh Road, National Highway N2 and the provincial road network that has been and is being invested in.

The bridge over the Vam Co Dong River on Provincial Road 822B was completed in early January 2025 after 20 months of construction.

According to the Director of the Department of Construction - Dang Hoang Tuan , the investment in the construction of DT822B is of great significance in meeting the travel and trade needs of people in the region, ensuring traffic safety and gradually completing the Duc Hoa dynamic axis, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Duc Hoa and Duc Hue districts in particular and Long An province in general.

With the important goal and significance of the investment in the DT822B project, the relevant agencies regularly monitor, track and support the construction unit in implementation; strictly manage the progress, volume and quality of the project./.

Besides DT822B route, Vam Co Dong bridge is also an important item in the project. The bridge has a total length of nearly 536m, the main span structure is made of balanced cantilever reinforced concrete, with a total investment of more than 322 billion VND.

The bridge construction package was deployed from April 2023. After more than 20 months of construction, on January 5, 2025, the People's Committee of Long An province held a bridge closing ceremony and started construction of DT822B, marking an important step in completing the main structure of the project. It is expected that the entire Vam Co Dong bridge will be completed by April 30, 2025.
