Prime Minister: "Young people must work with focus, do each job properly"

(Dan Tri) - On the evening of March 23, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the award ceremony of Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces 2024. Here, the Prime Minister gave many words of encouragement to Vietnamese youth.

The Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award honors young people under 35 years old with outstanding achievements in important fields such as study, scientific research, production, start-up, national defense, security and order, sports, culture and arts, and state administrative management.

These are individuals who are not only excellent in their profession but also have a spirit of dedication, strongly inspiring the young generation of Vietnam in the era of integration and innovation.

This year, the Award Council selected 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces and 8 Promising Young Vietnamese Faces.

At the ceremony, delegates had the opportunity to interact with some outstanding young faces of 2024. Among them, two outstanding students were Nguyen Huu Tien Hung and Than The Cong - young talents who brought home gold medals at the International Olympic Games, Senior Lieutenant Hoang Khac Hieu, who has proposed many important technical solutions in the police force, young artist Nguyen Huynh Son (Soobin Hoang Son) and athlete Trinh Thu Vinh also impressed with outstanding achievements in the fields of art and sports.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the important role of youth in the cause of building and defending the country. He repeated the famous saying of scholar Than Nhan Trung: "Talent is the vital energy of the nation" and affirmed that today's young generation is the important factor determining the development of the country.

The Prime Minister called on Vietnamese youth to promote the spirit of vanguard, innovation and pioneering in three core areas: innovative thinking and strategic vision; developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; and promoting Vietnamese culture to the world.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister warmly commended and congratulated the outstanding young people who were awarded the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award and all young Vietnamese people - those who are striving day and night, overcoming difficulties to rise up with the people and soldiers of the whole country.

The Prime Minister affirmed that 2025 is of special importance: It is the year of many important events of the country; it is the year of focusing on arranging the apparatus, organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress; it is the year of promoting the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation according to Resolution 57 of the Politburo;

2025 is also the year of "acceleration, breakthrough, and reaching the finish line", striving to achieve an economic growth rate of 8% or more to successfully implement the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025; is the year of "creating momentum, creating momentum" for double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period and the following period, contributing to the successful implementation of the two 100-year strategic goals (striving to become a developing country by 2030, with modern industry and high middle income; by 2045, a developed country with high income).

In the context of the country facing a historical moment where it must make historic decisions and have historic people to prepare to enter a new era, what should Vietnamese youth do?

According to the Prime Minister, Vietnamese youth must strive to do their best; if they are determined, they must be even more determined; if they make an effort, they must make an even greater effort; if they act decisively, they must act even more decisively; work with focus and key points; complete each task;

Young people must have the mindset of "turning nothing into something, turning difficult into easy, turning the impossible into possible, nothing is impossible".

Young people must also focus on performing their tasks in the spirit of "6 clear": clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear authority, clear time, clear results, contributing with the whole country to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, for the cause of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

The Prime Minister emphasized that our Party, State and people have complete trust and great expectations in the contributions of the young generation, of the Vietnamese Youth of the new era in this glorious cause; as General Secretary To Lam said: "The Party and State always place deep trust in the youth force, always put the youth at the center of many major issues of the country; consider the youth as the key factor in shaping and developing the future of the country; consider the growth of the youth as the success of the Party, the victory of the revolutionary cause, the longevity of the nation".

1. Nguyen Huu Tien Hung, student of Hanoi Medical University.

2. Than The Cong, student at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

3. Dr. Pham Huy Hieu, Lecturer at the Institute of Computer Science and Engineering, Research Expert at the Center for Smart Health, VinUni University.

4. Dr. Nguyen Viet Huong, Deputy Head of Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Phenikaa University.

5. Hoang Khac Hieu, Head of Development Department 2, Government Solution Center, Viettel Enterprise Solutions Corporation, Military Industry - Telecommunications Group.
