Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong had a busy day during his official visit to Vietnam. He said he met old friends and made new friends.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has just posted a series of photos updating the first two days of his visit to Vietnam. On Facebook, he also tagged Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Education Minister Chan Chun Sing, Manpower Minister and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng in the series of photos.
The status posted by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong reads: "A busy first day in Vietnam. In the morning, I laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum before meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Afterwards, I also met with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue."
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said his last visit to Hanoi was in 2018. "I am delighted to have the opportunity to meet with Vietnamese leaders – reconnect with old friends and make new ones," he shared.
He also expressed his joy when he walked around Hoan Kiem Lake on the evening of August 27.
His post received a lot of interaction from both Vietnamese and Singaporean people.
Previously, upon arriving in Hanoi, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also posted a greeting along with a picture of Tran Quoc Pagoda, saying he was delighted to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the two countries celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations and 10 years of establishing a strategic partnership.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also shared that, in addition to diplomatic relations, Singaporeans and Vietnamese people also have many common interests, which is cuisine.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong regularly records himself with his mobile phone and posts these photos on social networking sites. He was one of the leaders who created a Facebook account very early in April 2012, and now has 1.7 million regular followers.
Today, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will co-chair a series of activities: Attending the Conference to promote the implementation of Vietnam-Singapore investment cooperation projects; meeting with outstanding students and having lunch with students at Hanoi National University; attending a dialogue session between young leaders of the two countries and Ministers.
