The meeting with friendly personalities - Chinese friends who helped Vietnam in the two resistance wars as well as in national construction took place on the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to China to attend the 2023 WEF Pioneers Conference in Tianjin (WEF Tianjin).
At the reception, thanking the Prime Minister for taking the time to meet the Association, Mr. Yuan Mindao, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said that China and Vietnam are both comrades and brothers, helping each other in times of difficulty; the friendship between the two countries was nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong.
Affirming that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries is developing well in all aspects, Mr. Vien Man Dao expressed his great interest in the Prime Minister's visit.

Mr. Vien Man Dao congratulated Vietnam on its economic and social achievements in recent times and believed that under the leadership of the Party, State and Government, Vietnam will develop further, contributing to improving people's lives.
Vice President Yuan Mindao said that the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China-Vietnam Friendship Association always maintain good relations with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-China Friendship Association.
The two sides regularly organize many cultural exchange activities and festivals, contributing to promoting the exchange between the people of the two countries. At the same time, the two sides actively coordinate with each other to promote exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Vietnamese localities; continue to follow the 16 golden words of friendship to contribute to promoting the strong development of the relationship between the two countries.

At the meeting, a number of Chinese friendship figures were moved to recall unforgettable memories of President Ho Chi Minh, the country and people of Vietnam.
Mrs. Tran Tri Tien, daughter of General Tran Canh, affirmed that the friendship between the two countries has a long tradition. She was moved to recall General Tran Canh's memories of Vietnam and Uncle Ho. Her father was sent by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to help Vietnam and the days he met Uncle Ho were the best days of his life. She herself has always remembered the phrase "Long live Uncle Ho" since she was young. She hopes that the warm friendship fostered by the two countries' senior leaders will last forever.
Mr. Vi Tieu Nghi, son of General Vi Quoc Thanh - Head of the Chinese military advisory group to Vietnam to support the resistance war against France, recalled that at that time, his father overcame all difficulties, used accumulated experience to help Vietnam, bravely fought against strong enemies, and went through major campaigns with the Vietnamese army, including the Dien Bien Phu Campaign... He affirmed that we need to remember the great contributions of our predecessors in building and nurturing the friendship between the two countries.
Ms. Du Thu Hue, former nurse at Nam Khe Son Hospital (Guilin), expressed her emotion at meeting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the members of the delegation and recalled the old memories of working at the hospital in Guilin, treating thousands of wounded Vietnamese soldiers transferred from the battlefield. She said that the friendship between the two countries, created by previous leaders, is now at a crucial period. The two countries are determined to promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and continue the friendship.

After listening to the sharing of the dignitaries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his gratitude for their touching feelings and stories. The Prime Minister repeated President Ho Chi Minh's saying about the friendship between the two countries: "A hundred favors, a hundred meanings, ten thousand feelings/The spirit of friendship is glorious forever".
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the relationship between the two countries is developing very well. This visit aims to concretize the agreements that the two sides reached during the official visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in December 2022.
The Prime Minister informed the Chinese dignitaries about his work program over the past few days, including meeting with China's top leaders and attending the WEF Conference held in Tianjin.
Stating that the friendship between the two countries was nurtured by affection and mutual assistance in difficult times, the Prime Minister recalled President Ho Chi Minh's path to national salvation, which was closely linked to China. The great friendship between the two countries was initiated by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong. During the resistance years, when mentioning the names of advisor Vi Quoc Thanh and General Tran Canh, many Vietnamese people knew that they were people who devoted and devoted all their affection to Vietnam...
Today, many places in China still preserve documents and images of Vietnamese people, and in Vietnam, many places and objects mark China.
The relationship between the two countries is also nurtured by the affection of ancestors and neighborly friendship. The Prime Minister suggested that the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations should have a plan to record documents about the traditional relationship between the two countries to inspire future generations, helping to foster the Vietnam-China friendship "mountains linked to mountains, rivers linked to rivers" to develop more and more.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the two countries are currently in a comprehensive strategic partnership that is growing, therefore, both sides need to continue to foster the relationship, worthy of what the previous generations left behind.
The Prime Minister suggested that the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries regularly organize exchange activities, thereby helping to further consolidate and strengthen people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries and contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
