This morning (April 6), Hue Central Hospital solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for Hue Central International Hospital 2. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister; Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission; Comrade Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Minister of Health; Comrade Nguyen Chi Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Planning and Investment; Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Construction; Comrade Nguyen Danh Huy, Deputy Minister of Transport and leaders of central ministries and branches.

On the side of Thua Thien-Hue province, there were the participation of comrade Le Truong Luu, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Phan Ngoc Tho, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province and comrades leading departments and branches in the area.

Hue Central International Hospital, inaugurated in 2014, is the first international standard medical facility in Vietnam in a public hospital, with a scale of 300 international standard beds, equipped with modern facilities and advanced equipment, the most modern medical equipment such as the 512 Revolution CT scanner system (GE, USA), MRI 1.5 T SIGNA Explorer AIR IQ providing superior image quality, 3D, 4K endoscopic surgery, Spy Glass for early cancer detection, new technology radiotherapy machine, ... are breakthroughs in diagnosis, treatment and implementation of high-quality services.
The hospital meets the increasing demand for quality medical examination and treatment for domestic and foreign patients. Every year, Hue Central International Hospital attracts nearly 200,000 patients and performs surgery on more than 8,000 patients. The bed occupancy rate is always approximately 100%. The demand for medical examination and treatment at Hue Central International Hospital is increasing, and at times it is overloaded.

According to Prof. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, with the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of people at home and abroad, and foreign tourists; the expansion of Hue Central International Hospital is an urgent need, and the Hue Central International Hospital 2 project was born.
The project was granted Investment Policy Decision No. 3603/QD-BYT with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND for construction and nearly 100 billion VND for medical equipment. The project has an investment scale of a 6-storey building and 1 basement with a total construction floor area of 21,000 m2, with a full system of modern medical equipment.
The project includes Hybrid operating rooms, artificial kidney system, Full Automation testing system, complete imaging diagnostic system, PACS, LIS, HIS... combined with synchronous technical infrastructure, meeting the capacity to receive 300 more hospital beds meeting international standards (5 stars). The progress from construction commencement to completion is 700 days.
