Good income from traditional weaving in Tuong Duong

Due to the changes of time, living conditions, and the impact of the integration process, some traditional occupations of ethnic minorities in Tuong Duong district have gradually faded away. In order to preserve and develop the profession, in recent years, artisans in Tuong Duong district have diversified the designs of their products, focusing on aesthetics while still maintaining traditional beauty. Thanks to that, the products created are favored by consumers everywhere, contributing to bringing stable income to the people. Compared to slash-and-burn farming, bamboo and rattan weaving is less arduous and provides a higher and more stable income. For each brocade, when completed, the embroiderer is paid about 150,000 - 250,000 VND depending on the size and sophistication.
