According to TheSportsRush, after the reveal of GTA 6, it is the right time for Sony to release an upgraded version of its next-gen gaming console. Initial reports said that the PS5 Pro would be revealed alongside Rockstar's latest franchise, but that no longer seems to be the case as the upgraded version of the PS5 may not be released until late 2024.
PS5 Pro Could Bring Huge Spec Upgrades
The leaked specs come from developer kits being handed over to third-party studios, giving fans a better look at the console. The PS5 Pro is said to come with a 4nm CPU based on the new Zen 4 architecture with an integrated GPU. The GPU will be powerful enough to deliver stable 4K 60 FPS gaming without the need for any AI upscaling. Additionally, the PS5 Pro will be able to handle Ray Tracing with ease thanks to RDNA 3 or 3.5.
Overall, the upgraded version will be nearly 50% more powerful than the base version. It will be able to handle 8K upscaling using a dedicated performance mode without any issues. Ultimately, this will be the last major hardware in the PS5 lineup before the PS6 launches in 2028.
All of these features sound pretty exciting to the fanbase, although some believe that some of them may be headed to the PS6, as a refresh can't make such drastic leaps to avoid affecting expectations for next-gen hardware. Additionally, some are concerned that the price of the PS5 Pro could increase significantly if this hardware configuration becomes a reality.
