The TV program “A Journey Through Cultures: Highlights of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam and China” introduces typical traditions of the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival such as: displaying a tray of five fruits to worship ancestors, making traditional lanterns, trimming fruits, preparing a “Moon-watching feast” for children and carrying lanterns to watch the moon.
Consul General of Vietnam in Guangzhou Nguyen Viet Dung and his wife personally prepared offerings to grandparents and ancestors, recreating the image of a traditional Vietnamese family, introducing the meaning of the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival as a holiday for children, when adults put aside all the hustle and bustle of work and life and spend a warm, complete time with their families. Memories of the Mid-Autumn Festival of Vietnamese children are always associated with the love and care of grandparents and parents and the reunion with loved ones in the family.
