At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the cooperation between Vietnam and Türkiye in many fields, and discussed opportunities for media cooperation to further spread information about Vietnam to Türkiye and vice versa, contributing to promoting greater understanding between the people of the two countries.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son shared with Ambassador Korhan Kemik about the role of The Gioi Va Viet Nam Newspaper, the media agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in providing foreign information, bringing the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the world, and introducing important information from other countries, including Türkiye, to Vietnamese readers.

The Editor-in-Chief affirmed that The World and Vietnam Newspaper is ready to cooperate with the Turkish Embassy to convey useful information in all fields, especially in economics, culture, education, tourism, etc., thereby contributing to promoting cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

The World and Vietnam Newspaper has published a number of articles, exploiting information about the culture and life of the people and country of Türkiye, including the article "Aviation gives wings to diplomacy" about the importance and "soft power" of Turkish Airlines in promoting diplomacy, trade and cultural exchange of Turkey.

Ambassador Korhan Kemik shared that Türkiye admires Vietnam's spectacular development and wishes to elevate bilateral relations with Vietnam to a comprehensive partnership, thereby opening up new and broader cooperation opportunities in many fields.

Affirming the importance of economic and trade cooperation, Ambassador Korhan Kemik said that during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Türkiye in early December 2023, the leaders of the two countries set a goal of increasing trade turnover to 4 billion USD.

“I believe that we will not only achieve but also surpass this goal, because the potential for cooperation between Türkiye and Vietnam is huge. The two countries have complementary economies. Vietnam is a dynamic economy, a “rising star in the region,” said Korhan Kemik.

Regarding cultural, tourism and educational cooperation, Turkish Airlines currently operates daily flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Istanbul. The airline plans to increase the frequency from 14 flights to 20 flights per week this year. In addition, Ankara offers international scholarships and a number of Vietnamese students have received them. “This is an important factor in bilateral cooperation. If we can increase the number of scholarships, it will benefit both countries in terms of exchanging views and academic expertise,” the Turkish Ambassador emphasized.

Sharing about the possibility of cooperation, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son said that the Embassy can provide information, articles or interviews, participate in talk shows, expand the sharing of news from Turkey to Vietnamese readers, as well as bring Vietnamese information to Turkish media channels and newspapers.... Thereby, the Newspaper can introduce more about the country, culture and people of Türkiye to Vietnamese friends, as well as opportunities for businesses of the two countries to expand cooperation, especially in the Halal industry, where Türkiye is a large market in the region.

The Turkish Ambassador agreed with the Editor-in-Chief's sharing and suggestions, affirming his readiness to cooperate with The Gioi and Viet Nam Newspaper to promote information exchange, connect the press agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the foreign policy magazine of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and send a contact person to discuss specifically the possibility of cooperation.
