"This year, Ho Chi Minh City also organized a countdown to welcome the new year at Nguyen Hue walking street and had 2 fireworks displays like every year. The holiday season in the city is usually more open, so it would be interesting to try celebrating the new year. However, I still regret Phu Quoc because I read in the newspaper that Phu Quoc has a series of new and spectacular products and events. Tay Ninh also has fireworks, but my family has not gone to Ba Den mountain. Some people want to take the opportunity to go to Da Lat to avoid the sun, but they also see some attractive programs. Tay Ninh or Da Lat can be taken by car. In general, the plan is still open, not yet decided where to go because any place to celebrate the new year is "great", said Ms. Hong Lien.
As Ms. Hong Lien commented, starting from the Christmas season until now, Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) has become the center of the Tet travel season when continuously introducing high-class masterpieces and attractive experiences. First of all, we must mention the opening event of Cau Hon, an artistic masterpiece designed by famous Italian designer Marco Casamonti, on December 23. With a unique design, on January 1 every year, the sunset will fall right between the two bridgeheads, making this place one of the most beautiful sunset viewing spots in the world.
That is also the reason why many people are coming to Phu Quoc during Tet to be the first to witness this spectacular moment. Tourists tend to book services and tours very early. World discovery journeys that customers are interested in include Japan, Korea, Australia, America, Southeast Asia, etc. The number of tourists traveling to celebrate the New Year 2024 with Saigontourist Travel increased by about 10% compared to the same period last year.
International tourists come to Vietnam to celebrate Christmas
Meanwhile, Vietluxtour Travel Joint Stock Company recorded that the Central region destinations such as Nha Trang, Da Nang, Tuy Hoa... are the "hottest" destinations this New Year. Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Communications Director of Vietluxtour, predicted that this year's New Year, the MICE, inbound, outbound and domestic individual tour markets will have relatively good growth rates but not too breakthrough. Vietluxtour expects the year-end growth rate (from now until Lunar New Year) in the markets to be about 15 - 20% on average compared to the same period last year, depending on the market.
In particular, the inbound tour market has seen many improvements due to the resonance from quite good promotional activities in the past year, the new visa policy is quite favorable, the reviews of destinations in the international market are also quite positive... The outbound market is also quite bustling, especially the Northeast Asian market with increasingly hot competition in terms of destinations, promotions, increasing the attraction of Vietnamese tourists. On the contrary, the domestic market is under a lot of competitive pressure because service prices are still quite high.
"Domestic tourism needs a synchronous campaign to promote not only airfares but also many other services such as restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions and other means of transportation... to contribute to positively impacting tour prices. Thereby stimulating customer demand, increasing the competitiveness of the domestic tour market at home," Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu proposed.
Agreeing, Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group, said that 2024 is likely to be a year of great pressure for domestic tourism. Without timely solutions, the number of domestic tourists is forecast to have difficulty achieving the expected growth rate due to the worrying impact of internal problems in the domestic aviation industry.
Recently, the Civil Aviation Authority forecasts that in 2024, domestic passenger transport output is estimated to reach 38.5 million passengers, down nearly 11% compared to 2023. This forecast was made in the context of airlines facing many difficulties, some of which have adjusted and cut some domestic routes. Some domestic airlines also have to reduce the size of their fleets due to restructuring as well as the general impact of the global aviation industry... We expect the Government and ministries and sectors to join hands to overcome the difficulties of the aviation industry to create momentum for domestic tourism to develop rapidly, because domestic tourism is still considered a solid foundation for Vietnam's tourism industry.
