Thanks to the active participation and creative approach of the Fatherland Front at all levels, the movement to build sewers and drainage ditches to overcome environmental pollution in residential areas in Vinh Phuc province has spread widely and received consensus and support from the people. The success of this movement has created a breakthrough for many localities to reach the finish line of building advanced, exemplary new rural areas.
Vinh Tuong district is one of the bright spots of Vinh Phuc province in implementing the movement to build sewers and drainage ditches to overcome environmental pollution in residential areas. After a short time of implementation, the movement has attracted the participation of many classes of people in the residential community.
With the consensus of the people, tens of billions of VND have been contributed by the people to complete the drainage system, build rural roads, plant trees, and build flower roads on inter-village and inter-commune roads. In the past 2 years, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and people of Vinh Tuong district have mobilized people to build more than 138km of drainage ditches in residential areas; planted 114 flower roads with a total length of more than 31km; painted more than 1,600m2 of murals to create "fresco roads" to help the rural environment become more civilized and livable.
Not only in Vinh Tuong district, the movement to build sewers and drainage ditches to overcome environmental pollution has spread to every residential area in Vinh Phuc province, thereby mobilizing the active participation of people in environmental protection. Assessing the positive effects of this movement, Chairwoman of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Bui Thi Thu Hang said that through practice, the movement has created profound changes, raising people's awareness of environmental protection, building a bright, green, clean and beautiful residential landscape.
With the mechanism of "State and people working together", in which the State supports 100% of the cost of construction materials, people contribute funds to hire labor, donate land, contribute labor, and directly participate, the implementation process has been supported by the people. In addition to contributing money according to the number of people, many households have voluntarily contributed more money, voluntarily dismantled fences, donated land and contributed labor days. After 2 years of implementation, the whole province has completed over 789km with a total cost of over 1,000 billion VND, of which the people contributed an estimated 600 billion VND. The implementation of construction and renovation of sewer and drainage systems has overcome environmental pollution and improved the quality of life for the people.
At the same time, in order to maintain and promote the results achieved from the movement "All people participate in building and renovating sewers and drainage ditches, overcoming environmental pollution in residential areas", the Fatherland Front at all levels of Vinh Phuc province also presided over the development of plans and launched the movement "All people participate in protecting the environment, building bright, green, clean and beautiful residential areas" with 4 specific contents and criteria. Up to now, the whole province has built 4,755 model roads "bright, green, clean and beautiful", limiting garbage gathering places that cause loss of aesthetics, raising people's awareness of participating in environmental protection, forming a cultural and civilized lifestyle.
In order for the movement of the entire people participating in environmental protection to truly develop in depth and quality, in the coming time, the Fatherland Front at all levels of Vinh Phuc province will continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", mobilizing people to build bright, green, clean and beautiful residential areas in the province, period 2021 - 2025. In districts and cities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations maintain and expand model roads, mobilize people to maintain environmental sanitation with specific and practical tasks such as: General environmental sanitation on Saturdays or Sundays every week, organize waste collection and waste treatment to ensure environmental sanitation, mobilize people to plant trees, flower roads, and install lighting in residential areas.
