In 2024, the fight against IUU fishing in our province has been vigorously implemented; awareness of officials and fishermen has been raised; management of fishing vessels and control of fishing vessel activities have become increasingly strict, which has been recognized by the working group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In particular, the results of handling "3 no" fishing vessels have been better than in other localities; the rate of monitoring aquatic products through fishing ports has increased; inspection, control and handling of IUU fishing violations have been effective; the situation of disconnection of journey monitoring equipment and crossing the border into foreign waters has significantly decreased.

In addition, the work to combat IUU fishing still has many limitations that need to be urgently overcome to prepare to welcome and work with the European Commission's inspection delegation, such as: The rate of monitoring seafood output through ports is low; the situation of crossing maritime boundaries and losing connection to voyage monitoring equipment still occurs; fishing logs are not yet reliable; the verification and handling of IUU fishing behaviors, violations of fishing logs, and illegal fishing are still limited, and the registration and licensing of fishing have not been completed.
