(HG) - The Office of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee requested the Traffic Safety Committees of districts, towns and cities to strengthen the work of ensuring traffic order and safety, and pay attention to clearing roads managed by localities. The Department of Transport directed the Transport Inspectorate to develop and implement a patrol and control plan, strengthen the assurance of traffic order and safety during holidays and Tet; coordinate with the Traffic Police, the Police for administrative management of social order, and the local police to maintain traffic order and safety; promptly prevent violations of transportation regulations; inspect, handle and clear cases of encroachment and re-encroachment of roadsides and sidewalks for trading; remove roofs and clear trees that obscure visibility along national highways and provincial roads.
Authorities went to inspect and remind people not to buy, sell, or encroach on the sidewalk on National Highway 61.
Since the beginning of the year, the road sector has conducted 219 inspections, examined 316 vehicles, issued on-site warnings to 30 vehicles, detected and fined 55 violations with a total fine of more than 179 million VND, revoked 12 driving licenses, and temporarily detained 2 vehicles. Regarding waterways, 109 inspections were conducted, examined 128 cases, issued warnings to 22 cases, detected and fined 1 violation with a fine of 2.5 million VND. Coordinated with relevant units to clear 284 umbrellas of all kinds; 114 signs, platforms; 99 canopies; 440 households trading and doing business encroaching on the roadway, sidewalks, and pavements, causing disorder in road traffic safety.
