As a hamlet recognized as a model new-style rural residential area in August 2023, hamlet 1 currently has a fairly complete system of cultural and sports facilities. Every afternoon, at the hamlet's Cultural House, many people and students come to practice sports. Some run, some play volleyball, use training equipment, children play soccer, shuttlecock... creating a joyful and exciting entertainment atmosphere.
Mr. Pham Quang Diec, Party cell secretary, head of the hamlet's Front work committee, said: Hamlet 1 has 250 households with 820 people, the people mainly participate in agricultural production and small-scale handicrafts, economic life is still difficult. However, the mobilization of resources to build and improve the criteria of a model new-style rural residential area has always received the people's approval and positive response.
The total investment cost for Hamlet 1 to build a model new rural area is over 850 million VND, most of which is contributed by the people. In the hamlet cultural house area, electricity, internet, bookcases and some equipment are installed to serve the cultural needs of the people. Along the roads, not only are they invested in upgrading and being spacious, but they are also decorated with flower pots, painted walls...
Along with that, the implementation of civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals is followed by the people in the village in accordance with the regulations of the State and locality.
Hamlet 1 has the Xuan Thanh communal house relic, which was recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic since 2011. Every year, the village festival is held here on the 15th day of the second lunar month with rich ritual and festival activities, preventing the exploitation of festival activities for profit or superstition. Comrade Tran Van Nghiep, Vice Chairman of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee, said: After being recognized as meeting the NTM standards in 2015, Tan Thanh commune continued to be selected by the province and district to build an advanced NTM. Accordingly, the commune has focused on completing and improving the quality of the achieved criteria towards an advanced NTM commune and completed it by the end of 2023.
For the three requirements of the cultural criteria, the commune has focused on mobilizing resources to gradually complete grassroots cultural and sports institutions to promote the development of local cultural, artistic and sports movements.
The multi-purpose cultural house of the commune and the cultural houses in 8/8 hamlets are all arranged with spacious areas, fully equipped, meeting the meeting and living needs of the commune and the people. The sports area of the commune ensures serving sports activities with items such as: mini soccer field, volleyball court, badminton court, athletics...
Tan Thanh Commune has installed 10 sets of outdoor sports equipment and tools to serve the cultural, sports, entertainment and recreational needs of the people, focusing on serving children and the elderly in the commune's cultural and sports center.
In 100% of hamlets, there are simple sports grounds attached to the cultural house yard, with volleyball and badminton courts, etc., with 5-7 simple sports equipment. Of which, 8 hamlets have planned separate sports grounds. The hamlets' sports grounds all meet the people's sports training needs and basically meet the standards of cultural houses - village sports areas according to the standards of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
With the well-invested and synchronous infrastructure, the cultural, artistic and sports movements of the local people have taken place vigorously. Mass art clubs, health clubs, badminton, women's volleyball, and activities of community learning centers are maintained regularly.
Currently, the hamlets have established 10 clubs, teams, and groups of people who love culture and arts with over 200 members participating. Every year, the commune has organized many exchanges and mass sports competitions on major holidays, attracting 33% of the local population to participate in regular sports practice.
In building a cultural life, the commune focuses on promoting the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" with practical and specific contents, which are actively responded to by the people. The number of families achieving the title of cultural family increases every year, in 2023 the number of cultural families reached 96%, the rate of families achieving the cultural title for 3 consecutive years reached over 80%; the number of hamlets achieving the title of cultural hamlet in 2023 reached 100%.
In addition, the activities of building a cultural lifestyle and preserving the ethnic culture of the commune have attracted a large number of people to participate. In the commune, there are 2 historical and cultural relics that have been ranked as provincial historical and cultural relics: Thuong communal house of Xuan Thanh village and Thuong communal house of Tu Tan village.
Over the past time, historical and cultural relics have been managed, restored and embellished in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage and current legal regulations. Thereby, ensuring practical service to the cultural and spiritual life of the people, contributing significantly to the preservation and promotion of historical and cultural relic values in the commune.
Along with the State’s investment, the commune has also actively promoted the socialization of the restoration and embellishment of relics. People in the commune have contributed many working days and hundreds of millions of VND to the protection, management, restoration and embellishment of relics.
Every year, the organization of festivals at relics is ensured in accordance with regulations, in accordance with local customs and practices, creating an exciting atmosphere among all classes of people and visitors coming to worship and visit.
With outstanding results in implementing cultural criteria in building new rural areas, Tan Thanh commune was recognized by the People's Committee of Kim Son district as a "Commune meeting new rural cultural standards" in 2015 and recognized as a "Commune meeting new rural cultural standards" in the period 2015 - 2020.
