With the attention to implementing many solutions to link new rural construction with building grassroots cultural life and the movement "All people unite to build cultural life" (TDĐKXDĐSVH), it has contributed to improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people of Thieu Toan commune (Thieu Hoa).
Aiming to build a model new rural village, Toan Thang village has promoted propaganda and mobilized people to renovate and build welfare works. Thanks to that, the landscape and environment are always bright - green - clean - beautiful; village roads and alleys are upgraded and expanded; cultural houses and sports areas are newly built and renovated.
Mr. Tong Truong Duc, Party cell secretary and head of Toan Thang village, said: “The village has 325 households and 1,295 people. All households actively responded and participated in local movements. In 2024, villagers contributed 610 million VND to build an outdoor sports area, upgrade the cultural house, and widen more than 1km of roads in the village to 6.5m. Thanks to mobilizing people to implement the criteria, especially the cultural criteria, the village has reached the finish line of a model new-style rural village in 2024.”
After achieving the new rural village title in 2022, the Toan Thanh village front committee continues to mobilize people to participate in building a model new rural village. At the same time, the village also encourages people to actively participate in cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities; effectively implement the contents of the movement to build a new rural village, preserve and promote cultural values, good customs and practices; unite and help each other in production and daily life.
Toan Thanh Village Chief Le Thi Huong said: “In 2024, the village mobilized people and children living far from home to contribute more than 220 million VND to build an outdoor sports area, renovate the cultural house, and renovate the stage. Thanks to that, the village's cultural and sports facilities have been upgraded to meet the cultural and sports needs of the people. People actively participate in cultural and sports movements, building cultural families. Up to now, the village has 85% of cultural families, the village has always maintained the title of cultural village and achieved the standard of a model new rural village in 2024".
In the process of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas, Thieu Toan commune has always focused on implementing cultural criteria. Up to now, all villages have installed outdoor sports and entertainment equipment for children. Cultural, artistic and sports activities are organized regularly, attracting a large number of people to participate. The commune has established various types of cultural and artistic clubs to preserve and promote traditional cultural values. Up to now, each village has 2-3 clubs such as volleyball, folk dance, health care, etc.
The system of cultural and sports facilities in communes and villages has been invested synchronously. The commune has a multi-purpose hall to ensure the conditions for the people's meeting place; establish and maintain the operation of the traditional room, preserving the unique historical and cultural values in the process of construction and development. The communal stadium has an area of over 6,900m2, meeting the needs of organizing sports activities for the people. 5/5 villages have cultural houses and sports areas to meet the requirements.
The spiritual and cultural life of the people is increasingly improved. About 45% of the people participate in physical training - sports, cultural - artistic activities at local events. The rate of cultural families reaches 93.61%. The work of preserving and promoting heritage values is of interest to the commune. In the commune, there is a cluster of relics recognized as national relics: The historical relic of the revolutionary base of the "Northern and Central Party Committee and Thanh Hoa Party Committee in the period 1930-1945".
