
Rich tourism resources
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a Master Plan to organize a survey of tourism resources nationwide, expected to last for 5 years, to have a general and specific picture of data on natural tourism resources and cultural tourism resources.
Thereby, aiming to form a tourism resource database system to serve the management, planning, development of tourism products, and development of tourist areas and destinations nationwide.
As a province with strengths in tourism development, since 2021, Quang Nam has approved and identified that the province has up to 125 tourism resources, including 58 natural tourism resources and 67 cultural tourism resources.

Statistics show that Quang Nam tourism resources are spread throughout districts, towns and cities, almost every locality has tourism resources.
It can be seen that in areas with existing tourism resources, management agencies and businesses have carried out tourism exploitation and development activities for a long time, but to truly become a unique tourist destination, regularly attracting domestic and foreign visitors, there are not many.
For example, of the 58 locations identified as natural tourism resources of Quang Nam, only the locations in Hoi An City, Phu Ninh Lake, Gop Cave Complex (Dong Giang) and some beaches in the eastern region have attracted a relatively large number of visitors, the rest still have untapped potential.
Among these, there are destinations with very unique resources that have been invested with many resources as well as solutions and policies to promote them to become attractive destinations in the future, such as: Bai Say - Song Dam (Tam Ky City), Tam Hai Island (Nui Thanh), gray-shanked douc langur conservation area (Tam My Tay, Nui Thanh), Bang Am peak (Dai Loc)...
Waiting to be discovered
However, tourism is a special economic sector, which needs the main driving force from businesses to come up with ideas and design innovative products.
Since 2019, TMS Global Joint Stock Company has proposed the idea of investing in an entertainment complex in Bang Am - Khe Tan and has made many moves to promote this issue during the COVID-19 pandemic, but so far it has remained inactive. On Tam Hai Island, which was promised many high-class resort and entertainment projects, it is also currently unfinished.
Many other tourist resource-owning locations actively invited surveys and investments, but most of them did not receive any response, especially in the mountainous districts of the province.

Dong Giang Heaven Gate is a rare case in the province where a business has committed to investing and realizing tourism resources to become an attractive tourism product in the highlands.
Mr. Van Ba Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the long-standing difficulty in developing tourism products in Quang Nam is that very few businesses have the potential to commit to exploiting the treasure trove of tourism resources in the local highlands.
In addition, many destinations and related agencies in the southern and western regions of the province are not interested in working with the department to implement programs to promote and widely advertise images and products to tourists.
Mr. Phan Xuan Thanh - Chairman of Quang Nam Tourism Association said that it is necessary to focus on exploiting tourism resources in depth, especially cultural tourism resources.
For example, Hoi An City has been exploited quite well in recent years to turn the locality into an attractive destination, but in reality there are still many unique cultural layers that have not been integrated into tourism activities. If further exploited, the value of the industry will increase greatly.
