According to people's feedback, in many localities in Dam Ha district, there are still small-scale industrial establishments operating right in residential areas, causing environmental pollution. Voters suggested that the province soon decide to establish industrial clusters (ICs) in the district to attract businesses to invest, create jobs and income for people, and at the same time relocate small-scale industrial and livestock production workshops... to the ICs.
Mr. Luong Thanh Phuc's auto, vehicle equipment and machinery repair shop (Hoang Van Thu street, Dam Ha town) is located right in a residential area, next to a resident's house. With an area of about 500m2, just one excavator needs to come in for repairs and there will be no room for other vehicles. It is easy to see that the space here is cramped and humid; the smell of used oil permeates the entire workshop, not to mention the noise from the bending and welding during the repair process, which affects the households living nearby.
Mr. Phuc said: We also realize that production in residential areas will inevitably affect the lives of households. Therefore, we hope that the government will support the relocation of small production facilities to concentrated areas to avoid pollution like the current situation.
Similarly, the carpentry workshop of Mr. Ngo Van Kieu's family (Bac Son street, Dam Ha town) has an area of about 400m2, the surrounding area is fenced and covered with corrugated iron about 5m high. However, because the workshop is located right in a residential area, the noise of saws, chisels... the smell of paint always lingers in the air, especially the countless sawdust dust, in every corner, has affected the surrounding people.
Mr. Kieu said: The family wants to expand production development, but it is difficult to rent premises that meet the requirements for building a factory. Therefore, it is very necessary for the province and district to soon deploy the construction of industrial parks to bring facilities into concentrated production areas, both to ensure conditions for production facilities to develop and to ensure the environment in residential areas.
Currently, small-scale industrial production establishments in Dam Ha district are mainly concentrated in the town. The concern about the difficulty in expanding production scale due to lack of land is a common concern of many owners and households producing small-scale industrial production in the district today.
According to the planning of Quang Ninh province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the province will establish 28 industrial clusters. The main industries to attract are processing, manufacturing, supporting industry, high technology, construction materials production, agricultural and forestry processing, mechanical repair, consumer goods production, textile industry, food processing... Up to now, the Industrial Cluster East of Dam Ha B in Tan Binh commune has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee. The project investor is submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the project investment policy. After the project investment policy is approved, the investor will continue to implement it.
A representative of Shinec Joint Stock Company - the investor of the project to invest in construction and business of infrastructure of the Industrial Park East of Dam Ha B, said: After being selected by the Evaluation Council as the investor to build the technical infrastructure of the Industrial Park, we have actively carried out the necessary legal procedures to soon implement the project according to the committed schedule. Strive to officially operate and exploit the business by May 2026, continue to promote investment and sales with the goal of achieving an occupancy rate of 50% in the first year when the project comes into operation, 85% in the second year and 100% in the third year.
According to the detailed construction plan of 1/500 scale of the Industrial Park in the East of Dam Ha B, the project investor has arranged 2.74 hectares for the relocation of small-scale industrial and livestock production workshops... into the Industrial Park, to solve the problem of environmental pollution in residential areas as it is now. In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to direct departments and branches to pay attention, promptly resolve procedures, and create conditions for investors to ensure compliance with regulations and committed progress.
