That was the direction of comrade Nguyen Quang Hung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the working session with the Department of Industry and Trade on the development of trade, services and industrial clusters (ICs), on the morning of June 12. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and People's Committees of districts and cities.

In recent years, the province's commercial infrastructure system such as markets, shopping centers, supermarkets, logistics centers, and petrol stations have been invested in a relatively synchronous and modern manner, meeting the business needs of enterprises, small traders, and consumer shopping needs of people. Trade promotion and e-commerce development have improved significantly. Total retail sales and consumer service revenue in 2023 reached more than VND 69,000 billion, up 15.3% compared to 2022; in the first 5 months of 2024, it reached VND 32,600 billion, up 16% over the same period in 2023. Export turnover in 2023 reached 2,604 million USD, up 6.1% over 2022; in the first 5 months of the year, it reached 1,046 million USD, up 10.1% over the same period in 2023.

Regarding the development of industrial clusters, the Department of Industry and Trade advised the Provincial People's Committee on the planning and development plan for industrial clusters, according to which by 2030, the province will have 67 industrial clusters. Currently, the province has 49 industrial clusters established with a total area of 2,722 hectares. The industrial clusters have attracted 493 investment projects with a total registered capital of VND 36,103 billion, an increase of 1.43 times compared to 2022, employing 60,802 workers. The Department of Industry and Trade assessed that trade, services and industrial cluster management are still facing many difficulties, so they are developing slowly, not commensurate with the potential and strengths of the province, and at the same time proposed a number of solutions and key tasks to promote the development of these fields in the coming time.

At the meeting, delegates focused on analyzing and clarifying the advantages, especially the bottlenecks that cause slow development of trade and service activities, difficulties and obstacles in investment and management of technical infrastructure of industrial parks and proposed solutions to remove them.
Concluding the working session, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The Department of Industry and Trade needs to closely follow the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 to clearly define the vision and development philosophy, and have specific solutions to strive for the target of trade and service development speed in the period 2025-2030 reaching 22%/year. Taking the development of seaports, logistics service systems, tourism services and other services as a driving force to promote trade and service development. The Department of Industry and Trade needs to work with enterprises in the province and provinces and cities to build a production - consumption chain, a supply chain of goods. Upgrade the trade and service infrastructure system, harmoniously combine traditional trade with modern trade, develop e-commerce... Well implement the project to develop the domestic market associated with promoting exports, the campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods; Take advantage of new generation FTAs to expand export markets; fully develop service industries to serve economic development. Research and advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue mechanisms and policies to attract businesses to invest in building commercial infrastructure and industrial park infrastructure. Quickly concretize the planning on developing logistics centers and attracting investment in this field... The Department of Industry and Trade presides over and coordinates with departments, branches and localities to effectively implement infrastructure investment and industrial park management in accordance with the law, ensuring efficiency and environmental protection. Prepare conditions to organize conferences to promote investment in industrial parks, attract quality, large-scale projects to invest in industrial parks, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of localities and the province in the coming years.
