SHB offers free conversion of magnetic card to VCCS standard chip card

In order to improve the security and safety of card transactions, SHB will support customers to convert magnetic stripe ATM cards to VCCS-standard chip technology cards at a cost of "0 VND". This is considered an effective solution to ensure the safety of card transactions for customers according to international standards. Accordingly, to own a modern domestic chip card, customers only need to bring their identification documents (ID card/citizen ID card with chip) to SHB transaction points nationwide to be guided to convert the card and update biometrics as soon as possible.

ATM magnetic cards are cards with a dark magnetic strip attached to the surface of the card. During transactions, there are cases where customers reveal information when entering the PIN code because a group of bad guys secretly install devices to record in order to steal property. Magnetic cards are also easily scratched after a period of use, which can greatly affect the use of the card in the future. Meanwhile, with SHB's domestic chip debit card that meets VCCS standards, card information is stored on an electronic chip, helping to minimize counterfeiting and fraud in transactions, increasing safety and security like high-end cards in the world. In addition, the card is also equipped with contactless transaction technology, customers only need to place, touch, or wave the card lightly on a card acceptance device (POS) with one-touch payment feature, to be able to make transactions quickly and easily.

In the near future, SHB will soon stop all magnetic cards to ensure greater safety for customers when making card transactions.
