Enhancing the role of women in the era of national development

On March 7, the Vietnam Women's Academy held a workshop "Promoting 65 years of tradition - Vietnam Women's Academy accompanies Association officials to enter a new era".

This is a practical activity on the occasion of International Women's Day 8.3 and the 65th anniversary of tradition and development of the Vietnam Women's Academy, affirming its pioneering role in training, scientific research and fostering cadres of the Vietnam Women's Union.

The workshop aims to share and clarify the 65-year tradition of establishment and development of the Vietnam Women's Academy. In addition, it affirms the position, role, stature and historical significance of the Vietnam Women's Academy in the country's innovation.

Overview of the Workshop

The workshop is also a forum for scientists, generations of cadres and lecturers of the Academy to research and discuss issues facing the Academy in promoting women's empowerment in the period of entering the New Era - the era of national development.

In the 2 working sessions, session 1 with the theme "Looking back at the 65-year tradition of the Vietnam Women's Academy. Delegates focused on discussing and summarizing the achievements and marks of the Vietnam Women's Academy during the 65 years of formation and development. Especially the important contributions of the Vietnam Women's Academy in training and fostering the Association's staff. Session 1 also highlighted the efforts of the Academy in promoting traditions, keeping up with the times and developing.

Session 2 with the theme “Vietnam Women’s Academy accompanies Union officials in the new era”. Delegates focused on the development orientations of the Academy in the context of digital transformation and international integration. Speakers will share about the development trends of higher education, application of technology in teaching and research, as well as recommendations to improve the quality of training and fostering Union officials in the coming time.

Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, Dr. Tran Lan Phuong, affirmed the important role of the Vietnam Women's Academy in the cause of enhancing the role and position of women in society.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, Dr. Tran Lan Phuong, shared that the 65-year journey of establishment and development of the Vietnam Women's Academy has continuously promoted its pioneering role in training and fostering female cadres, Union cadres, and in training high-quality human resources for society. Over the past 65 years, with the tireless efforts and dedication of generations of cadres and lecturers, the Vietnam Women's Academy has made an important contribution to the cause of gender equality, promoting the capacity and role of women in society, especially when the country is entering an era of development.

“The Vietnam Women’s Academy plays an important role in the training and development of cadres. The Academy is a place that provides quality human resources, making a significant contribution to the cause of enhancing the role and position of women in society. Over the past 65 years, the Academy has trained thousands of cadres, making an important contribution to the development of the Union and promoting gender equality in Vietnam,” affirmed Dr. Tran Lan Phuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

Vietnam is entering a new era with modern values, this is a historical opportunity for the country to develop to match the times. To meet the development requirements in the new context, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, Dr. Tran Lan Phuong, expressed her hope that in the new era, the Vietnam Women's Academy needs to constantly innovate its training and fostering methods, keeping up with modern trends and the development requirements of society.

There is a need to develop specialized training programs in leadership, management, and innovation skills so that Association officials can lead effectively in a diverse and internationally integrated environment that requires creativity and effective application of digital technology.

In addition, the Academy and the Vietnam Women's Union need to strengthen close coordination in training and fostering cadres. It is necessary to focus on training, fostering and developing a team of cadres with high professional qualifications, meeting the practical needs of the Union at all levels and the community in the New Era. It is necessary to ensure that training and fostering work does not only stop at improving professional qualifications but also focuses on developing qualities, strategic thinking, problem-solving capacity and the ability to adapt to social changes.
