This is a climbing competition for the press, gathering hundreds of journalists and reporters from press agencies across the country, from central to local levels; at the same time, it is also a place to strengthen the solidarity, dedication and creativity of journalists and reporters with many valuable press works about the image of the country and people of Vietnam.
Athletes reach the finish line at the first "Step on the Clouds" mountain climbing competition 2023.
Not only is it a "playground" for the press, this is also an activity that contributes to raising awareness of the position, role and effects of physical education and sports in improving health and contributing to the development of tourism, especially adventure tourism for the locality where the tournament is held.
The 2nd "Steps on the Clouds" Mountain Climbing Tournament - Conquering Ta Xua Peak in 2024 has 100 athletes participating. The athletes participating in the tournament will be supported by the Organizing Committee for all travel, food and accommodation expenses during the tournament.
Participating in this tournament, athletes will have to overcome a distance of about 12km of mountainous road. The starting point is at the foot of the mountain (in Ban Cong commune, Tram Tau district) and the destination is Ta Xua peak, at an altitude of 2,865m above sea level, one of the highest peaks in Vietnam. Ta Xua mountain is located in the south of Hoang Lien Son range, bordering Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province and Bac Yen district, Son La province.
On the journey to conquer Ta Xua mountain peak, athletes will experience the feeling of sublimation when conquering steep paths, crossing the ancient Rhododendron forest covered with moss.
One of the highlights of the journey is the "Dragon's Back" - a long, narrow mountain range, hidden in the sea of clouds like a giant dragon's back. This will be a challenging route, requiring athletes to have courage and solid climbing skills.
The tournament is expected to start from October 11-14, 2024; Opening ceremony: Tram Tau District Stadium, Yen Bai Province; Competition location is Ta Xua peak, Tram Tau District, Yen Bai Province.
The award structure includes 2 sets of prizes. Female individual prizes include 1 first prize; 1 second prize; 1 third prize and 3 consolation prizes.
The male individual awards include 1 first prize; 1 second prize; 1 third prize and 3 consolation prizes. The total prize value including cash and in-kind prizes (diamonds) is up to 185 million VND.
First prize: 35 million VND; second prize: 25 million VND; third prize: 15 million VND; consolation prize: 5 million VND.
