On the evening of March 19, the Vietnamese team defeated Cambodia with a score of 2-1 in a friendly match at Binh Duong Stadium.

In the pre-match press conference, coach Kim Sang-sik said this was the right time to test the players.

But in the match at Binh Duong Stadium, the Korean strategist only put on the field one new player, Trieu Viet Hung.

Explaining his surprising decision, coach Kim Sang-sik said: “I did not test many new players in the squad, I used experienced players because the Vietnamese team is still preparing for the match against Laos.

I analyze and help players accumulate expertise. I will create opportunities for players to learn in the future. The experienced players have a physical foundation, I think that is good preparation for the match against Laos."

It is worth mentioning that the only new player that coach Kim Sang-sik let play from the start, Trieu Viet Hung, only played for less than 30 minutes and was replaced.

Talking about this, coach Kim Sang-sik said: "The reason I decided to change Viet Hung's position is because I think he hasn't performed as well as he did during practice.

Viet Hung is excited to play for the national team. When Van Vi entered the field, he helped the team a lot."

Although the Vietnamese team won this match, coach Kim Sang-sik still cannot be happy because of personnel issues.

Specifically, midfielder Quang Hai was injured in the second half and Mr. Kim was forced to take him out.

But according to coach Kim Sang-sik, the Dong Anh player only suffered a minor injury.

Meanwhile, coach Koji Gyotoku said he was not satisfied with the Cambodian players even though they played relatively well against the Vietnamese team.

"The Cambodian team has accumulated a lot of experience. In the second half, we had many chances to score but lost 1-2. I am not satisfied but today was not a bad performance from Cambodia," said coach Koji Gyotoku.
