According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the event of welcoming a group of charter guests from Iran is an important milestone in the effort to promote international tourism of the City in particular and Vietnam in general. Expanding the international tourist market, especially from the Middle East, not only contributes to diversifying the source of visitors but also creates conditions for developing high-end tourism, improving service quality and increasing the attractiveness of Vietnam on the world tourism map.
According to data from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in 2024, the number of international tourists to Vietnam will reach more than 17.5 million, an increase of 139.5% over the same period in 2023.
In January 2025 alone, Vietnam's tourism industry reached a record with nearly 2.1 million visitors, an increase of 18.5% over the previous month and an increase of 36.9% over the same period in 2024.
This is an impressive figure, surpassing the nearly 2 million international arrivals in January 2020, affirming the strong recovery of the tourism industry after the pandemic and the increasing attractiveness of Vietnam in the international market. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City continues to be a destination attracting many large-scale tourist groups.
