The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that the land at the beginning of the Vinh Linh border is a place that marked the heroic history during the years when the country was divided. This is a fierce battlefield, a proud steel fortress and the front line of the North, a solid rear base of the South.
The people of Vinh Linh fought steadfastly, protecting the North-South bloodline, keeping the national flag flying on the northern bank of Hien Luong bridge at the border for nearly 8,000 days and nights.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong also commended the agencies and units for their coordination in creating a meaningful program, paying tribute to the great sacrifices of previous generations, further arousing the flame of patriotism, self-reliance and solidarity.
"The heroic echoes of history will create an endless source of strength for today's and future generations to firmly step on the revolutionary path, carry out the sacred testament of beloved Uncle Ho, build a strong and prosperous Vietnam, and enable the people to have a prosperous, warm and happy life," the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized.
The political art program "17th Parallel - Desire for Peace" includes 5 chapters: "July Days", "As if there was no separation", "Blood and Flowers", "Where the Strength of Vietnam is Seen" and "The Land of Steel Blooms".
Throughout the program are emotional stories, recalling the years of division between the North and the South, the aspirations for peace and national reunification of the entire nation, especially the people in the border areas.
