From November 16-23, the first Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province in 2024 will take place at the brick and ceramic craft village, Thay Cai canal, Mang Thit district, Vinh Long province.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province Phan Van Giau said that the event focuses on two main contents: "Red ceramic bricks" and "Green economy" which will create conditions for Vinh Long province to promote and advertise the potentials and advantages of exploiting tourism of Mang Thit ceramic brick production village - a famous and unique craft village in the Mekong Delta region; at the same time, create conditions for localities participating in the Festival to exhibit, introduce and promote achievements, potentials and strengths in various fields, thereby contributing to promoting economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation to achieve economic prosperity and environmental sustainability.
During 1 week, the 1st Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province in 2024 will take place with many diverse and rich activities, promising to bring visitors interesting experiences about the land of Vinh Long - the Southern rendezvous and the unique cultural values of the Red Kingdom - Mang Thit.

The event aims to promote and preserve traditional craft villages and priceless architectural heritage that have existed for more than 100 years, preserving the original place of the red brick and ceramic kingdom in Vinh Long. Coming here, visitors can visit, experience and explore the red brick and ceramic craft village; watch the locals create and explain the history of the formation and development of the brick kiln capital, as well as the process of making sophisticated brick and ceramic products, imbued with the traditional cultural identity of the Vietnamese people.
The highlight of the Festival is the large exhibition space and activities on the wharf and on the boats. It is expected that there will be about 30 boats on the river wharf carrying agricultural products, craft materials... and on the shore there will be about 40 booths of OCOP products, typical products, craft village products, local agricultural products...
In particular, the extremely special water puppet show will take place over 3 days for visitors to enjoy. In addition, a rather prominent activity that has attracted a large number of viewers recently is the LED kite performance. It is expected that there will be many types of kites with various sizes from 5m, 10m, 15m to over 20m... flying in the sky to serve visitors to visit and admire.

The festival is also an opportunity for Vinh Long to establish 102 dishes made from tofu skin and served with tofu skin for the first time in Vietnam. Having been formed, existed and developed for nearly a century, My Hoa tofu skin craft village is famous in Binh Minh, Vinh Long.
Nowadays, the craft village is becoming an attractive destination, attracting tourists. Coming here, visitors have the opportunity to witness the production process of delicious and attractive tofu skin, and listen to the locals tell interesting stories about the formation and development of the craft village.
Within the framework of the Festival, there will also be a “famtrip” activity and a conference to evaluate tourism products. Accordingly, representatives of 80 travel agencies will come to Vinh Long to survey tourism products and connect tourism in the coming time.
Head of Tourism Management Department, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province Nguyen Trong Tin emphasized: "This is an opportunity to promote craft villages, attracting tourist groups to Vinh Long to experience tourism products".
Another attraction of the Festival is a number of activities held in the evenings such as: The 2024 Vinh Long Province Amateur Family Festival and the 2024 Kinh - Hoa - Khmer Youth Singing Festival in Vinh Long Province held in Mang Thit District. In addition, there are also performances of amateur music, cultural performances, and extremely unique traditional folk arts...

Green Economic Activities also have many events attracting visitors such as: Artistic photography exhibition with the theme "Green Environment - Green Life - Green Tourism" at T&T Phuoc Tho Residential Area, Pho Co Dieu Street, Ward 3, Vinh Long City; Regional specialty fair in the Mekong Delta region; Experiential display space for products in the fields of agriculture, industry and trade as well as tourism in the Vo Van Kiet Street area.
In addition, there are a number of other activities such as planting souvenir trees "For a green earth"; Cultural space introducing agricultural products, displaying farming tools...
The first drone light performance event in Vinh Long, on the opening night, will also attract tourists. It is expected that about 300 drone lights will fly in the sky for 10 - 15 minutes, with typical images of Mang Thit.
