In 2024, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to participate with the Trade Promotion Center (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) to organize a space to display and promote OCOP products, handicrafts, and Vietnamese agricultural and food products, including 16 enterprises from Hanoi and Vietnamese provinces and cities at the 28th Artigiano International Handicraft Fair held at the Exhibition Center in Milan, Italy.

The "Hanoi - Vietnam" pavilion area of ​​84m2 of Hanoi city within the framework of nearly 200m2 of the Vietnam National pavilion is impressively decorated with many OCOP products, typical handicraft products with export potential of Hanoi and Vietnam such as: Ceramic products, embroidery, silk, rattan, interior and exterior decoration, carving, handbags; gift products and Vietnam's strong food products such as: tea, dried fruits of all kinds, cashew nuts, macadamia, fruit juice... In particular, the pavilion area has products of 8 prestigious and quality enterprises producing OCOP products, handicrafts, gifts, agricultural products and food in Hanoi including: Green House Cooperative (Handysilk brand); Viethnic International Trading Company Limited; Vietnam Laser Technology Company Limited; Japan Technology Development and Import-Export One Member Limited Liability Company (KOCHI); P&T Vietnam Food Limited Liability Company; Quang Minh Ceramics Joint Stock Company; Gigaherbs Vietnam Agriculture Joint Stock Company; Minh An International Trade and Tourism Import-Export Limited Liability Company.

The Vietnam national pavilion with open space, combined with product experience services, is convenient for visitors to experience and learn about products and regional culture with the theme "Vietnam OCOP products: Convergence of values ​​- Spreading culture". At the opening ceremony, Mr. Enrico Brambilla, General Secretary of the Milan Handicraft Confederation (APA Confartiginato Imprese Milano Monza e Brianza) highly appreciated Vietnam's re-participation, emphasizing that Vietnam's strengths are ceramics and silk products, mother-of-pearl inlay, lacquer, gift products... In the coming time, he will coordinate and support Vietnam to participate in the Artigiano International Handicraft Fair in 2025. For his part, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Italy Duong Hai Hung asked the Fair Organizing Committee to support and share experiences of countries participating in the fair with high efficiency, select products, support design, promotion, share information on market trends and tastes, wholesalers... The two sides discussed a number of specific activities and preparations that need to be implemented in the coming time regarding Vietnam's participation in the Fair in the following years.

In addition to the activities of displaying and introducing OCOP products, handicrafts, gifts, agricultural products and food, the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, together with the Federation of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises in the Fashion Sector of Lombardia (CNA Fedemoda Lombardia), organized a Workshop on the cooperation program of the Vietnam-Italy handicraft industry.
At the workshop, Mr. Jean Blanchaert, an artisan and handicraft expert in Milan, highly appreciated OCOP products, Vietnamese craft village products, and said that this is a priceless treasure reflecting the cultural and spiritual values ​​of the Vietnamese people that needs to be further promoted so that the world can better understand Vietnamese culture and products. With his extensive experience as an artisan, Mr. Jean Blanchaert has traveled to Vietnam many times and realized that Vietnamese craft villages should focus on developing and improving the quality of their handicraft products. In addition, Vietnam needs to focus on training young people to continue their careers through world design courses so that when they return to Vietnam, they can work with artisans to create traditional products with innovative trends, suitable for consumer tastes... Through the Seminar, speakers from both sides highlighted the strengths of each country's handicraft industry and discussed consumer trends, aesthetic trends, and cooperation trends to sustainably develop the handicraft industry of both sides. After the Seminar, the Delegation continued to organize a roundtable conference with Mr. Gabrielle Alberti, Director of the Exhibition Fair. The two sides exchanged and shared very openly and wished to jointly build a program and long-term cooperation plan in developing and promoting the cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people crystallized in each OCOP product, Vietnamese craft village products suitable for the shopping and consumption tastes of the world.

In addition, the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy has arranged for the Vietnamese delegation to work with the Handicraft Federation of Vicenza city and visit some ceramic workshops and handicraft production workshops of Vicenza city such as: UNION Company, VBC Company and Ceramiche Lorenzon.... The fair will last from November 30 to December 8, at the Milan Event Center, Italy.
