This is the first time the festival has been held to initially open up the tourism value of the Co Co River (the section through Hoi An is called the De Vong River).
Throughout August 31, the festival will have many notable activities such as: "Run for community health" contest; street Ao Dai performance; children's painting contest "Fishing village in me"; cooking contest "Fishing village kitchen"; experiencing folk games; experiencing kayaking, paragliding on the river; visiting the exhibition "Fishing village past and present"...
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, the leader of Cam An Ward People's Committee said that with the coastal estuary terrain, Cam An Ward has about 4km of coastline and the poetic "Lo Canh Giang" river. In recent years, Cam An has been known as a famous beach tourist destination with the Tan Thanh Fishing Village market.
With the desire for balanced and harmonious development, effectively exploiting the potential of local values, Cam An is gradually exploiting river tourism to create new tourism products for Hoi An as well as contributing to creating more sustainable livelihoods for residents.
At the festival, a pilot program of experiential discovery was launched. “Legendary Co Co” along Co Co River to Chua An Bang hamlet by rowing boat to visit the riverside fishing village with banyan trees, stone wells, ancient stone communal houses…
Joining the tour, visitors have the opportunity to listen to ancient stories and legends of the land and people of Hoi An as well as walk along peaceful, fresh village roads to local cultural and historical sites, learn and experience culture - arts, folk cuisine...
If all conditions are met, Cam An ward will deploy the "Legendary Co Co" experience program as a tourist destination and tour to serve visitors regularly and continuously in the near future.

The Co Co River is over 28km long, connecting Da Nang City and Hoi An City. Hundreds of years ago, before being silted up, the Co Co River was a bustling inland waterway for trade, especially during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Currently, the authorities of Quang Nam province and Da Nang city are still coordinating to clear the Co Co river. The Co Co river section through Hoi An city is currently less affected by sedimentation and still has the potential to exploit tourism in the near future.
