Ahead of the 2023 Women's World Cup, the Vietnam Football Federation cooperated with investors to carry out a documentary film project about the Vietnam Women's Football Team called: " Vietnam - Where are you? ".
This is the first documentary about the Vietnamese women's football team. The film is also a story about the rise of individuals, the efforts and sacrifices of a special group.
This project is therefore not simply a film about a women's football team participating in the World Cup for the first time, but rather a journey of a family together reaching their dream.
" Vietnam - Where are you? " is a documentary film genre based on real people and events and the main stories are composed to be closer, more sensitive, more subtle and more accessible to the mass audience instead of a reportage perspective.
Premiere of documentary about Vietnam women's team.
The pace of the film is important to ensure entertainment and to portray the character realistically. The film focuses on the dialogue moments, but it is the private moments of change that create the character's personality. They can be very strong and excellent on the field.
But off the field, they are "delicate" girls and sometimes have feelings. And those individuals, together as a family, are stepping out into the world to conquer new heights.
Overcoming many candidates, female director Nguyen Thi Tham was chosen. She is the one who brings fans closer to the female players, and the changing moments, including in the locker room during matches. As a woman, Nguyen Thi Tham finds it easier to open up and receive sharing from the female players.
At the press conference, VFF Vice President Nguyen Xuan Vu shared: " On behalf of VFF, I would like to thank the press, media, and sponsors who have accompanied the women's team on their journey to win tickets to the 2023 World Cup as well as providing materials and images contributing to the success of the film.
The ticket to the 2023 World Cup has shown the determination and enthusiasm of the female players. The women's team had collapsed because they missed the opportunity to participate in the biggest festival of women's football in the world in 2014, but did it again in 2022.
Nine years ago, Huynh Nhu was still sitting on the bench, and now as captain she has done what her seniors missed. And the 2023 World Cup is an opportunity for the spirit and image of Vietnamese women to be introduced more widely to the world .
The Vietnam women's football team is preparing to enter the 2023 World Cup, which will take place in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20. The plan of the Vietnam women's football team up to the time of competing in the biggest football festival on the planet for women is divided into 4 stages.
Phase 1 from May 22 to June 4, the team will gather at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
On June 5, the Vietnam women's football team began the second training phase in Germany with 3 friendly matches against Eintracht Frankfurt (June 10), Short Mainz (June 15) and the German women's team (June 24). During this time, the Vietnam women's football team will also have a short trip to Poland and have a friendly match with the Polish U23 team on June 21.
