VFF confirmed that referee Le Vu Linh made some mistakes.

In a dispatch sent to VFF on February 19, Thanh Hoa Club pointed out a number of controversial refereeing situations that put the team at a disadvantage in the match against Ho Chi Minh City at Thong Nhat Stadium. The club said that the main referee Le Vu Linh "issued yellow and red cards arbitrarily, showing the intention to destroy the team" and requested an investigation to clarify the negative suspicions.

"Based on the report received, the Vietnam Football Federation has directed functional departments to suspend the duties of the referees and related individuals as well as strictly handle the errors," VFF stated in response to the official dispatch of Thanh Hoa Club.

In the 65th minute, the referee did not award a penalty to Thanh Hoa FC. Mr. Le Vu Linh and his assistant ruled A Mit offside in the previous move. The match video showed that this was a clear wrong decision by the referee team. VAR did not intervene in this situation.
