On March 30, information from the People's Committee of Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) said that this locality has just requested to temporarily suspend the business activities of many stores specializing in welcoming Chinese tourists on zero-dong tours in the area.
Mong Cai City's interdisciplinary force seized many products of unknown origin and politically sensitive.
Specifically, through inspection by the interdisciplinary force, Mong Cai City People's Committee requested to temporarily suspend the business activities of establishments and business households including: Dai Duong International Store Agent (No. 31 Hoa Binh Avenue, Zone 3, Tran Phu Ward); business store of Trang Ly Trading and Service Company Limited (No. 10, Hai Hoa Industrial Park, Hai Hoa Ward).
In particular, for the International Ocean store, the Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to impose an administrative fine of more than VND150 million for selling counterfeit goods of unknown origin; at the same time, suspending all business activities of violating goods, from March 21.
Following Thanh Nien Newspaper's report, Mong Cai City authorities conducted an inspection and discovered a series of violations at a store specializing in welcoming Chinese guests.
Faced with the zero-dong tour situation, the Chairman of Mong Cai City People's Committee assigned the Mong Cai City Economic Department to preside over the establishment of an interdisciplinary team to inspect all facilities specializing in serving and welcoming Chinese guests. Previously, Thanh Nien Newspaper had a series of articles reflecting on the boom of zero-dong tours in Mong Cai City. Notably, these stores do not allow Vietnamese people to visit or shop. Not only that, inside these stores, there are also counterfeit goods; goods of unknown origin; goods with false information, politically sensitive images; and illegal use of Chinese labor.
Many billboards, paintings, and advertising photos with false or politically sensitive content are required to be removed immediately.
Then, on March 28-30, the interdisciplinary team of Mong Cai City inspected and discovered many stores violating the above content. For false and politically sensitive advertising pictures and photos, the authorities required the owners to immediately remove and erase them.
Also according to the People's Committee of Mong Cai City, in the first quarter of 2024, local authorities inspected and administratively sanctioned 44 establishments in tourism business activities, collecting over 1.3 billion VND to the state budget.
