Quang Ngai is ready to open Tra Khuc 3 bridge to traffic by the end of the year.

Tra Khuc 3 Bridge, which shortens the distance between Son Tinh and Tu Nghia districts (Quang Ngai), has completed 90% of its progress. The construction site is bustling with enthusiasm, ready to open to traffic by the end of this year.

Despite the rainy season, the construction site is still crowded with workers and mechanical equipment. The contractor said the "hard work" is done, only the final items are being urgently implemented so that by the end of this year, the distance between the two districts of Quang Ngai province will be shortened.

Construction site in full swing, Quang Ngai ready to open Tra Khuc 3 bridge

In recent days, the construction of Tra Khuc 3 bridge across Tra Khuc river connecting Son Tinh district center with Tu Nghia district has been going on continuously. Construction sites have been deployed, regardless of the weather, sometimes sunny, sometimes rainy.

At the bridgehead in Tu Nghia district, the contractor is pouring concrete and completing the surface layer. The bridge railing and approach road are also being urgently completed. A worker at the construction site said: "We are working continuously to ensure the opening of traffic by the end of the year as required by the investor and the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province."

The most difficult task was the three concrete-filled steel pipe arch spans for tensioning and pulling the load-bearing cables, which were finished. The launching of the beams and the bridge deck were also completed a long time ago.

At the same time, all 38m long U-beams of the remaining bridge spans were cast at the casting yard at the foot of the construction site and were craned into construction. The approach roads at both ends of the bridge basically completed the longitudinal drainage system, roadbed filling, and crushed stone grading for most of the route length...

The representative of the joint venture contractor said that the weather is currently unfavorable, so they are focusing on the construction of the bridge-related items. As for the approach road, they will wait for the rain to stop and then speed up the completion.

Mr. Ngo Van Dung - Director of the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the investor - said that the project's construction progress has reached about 90% so far, with a cumulative total of 625/716 billion VND. The disbursement of capital assigned in 2024 alone is about 72/210 billion VND.

Urgently remove obstacles and complete the final items

Tra Khuc 3 Bridge plays an extremely important role in connecting traffic for the western area of Tu Nghia district and the center of Son Tinh district. Not only that, when the bridge is put into operation, it will connect traffic on two important routes: National Highway 24B and Provincial Road 623B. Therefore, the bridge surface is more than 22m wide, the approach road is 26m wide, meeting current and future traffic needs. The total capital of the project is 850 billion VND.

The project will start construction at the end of 2022 and is scheduled to be completed by 2025. Thus, if the remaining 10% of the work is completed, the bridge will be completed ahead of schedule. Although the construction time is still long, the investor and contractor are determined to complete it soon.

The biggest problem facing this project is compensation and site clearance. Accordingly, the northern part of the project is still facing the Huynh Ngoc K. household, representing the heirs of Ms. Nguyen Thi L.’s household with an area of over 1,000 square ^meters within the construction area of the Tra Khuc 3 bridge access road in Son Tinh district.

Although there have been many efforts to remove obstacles in the past time, there are still some subjective and objective shortcomings such as the new regulations on compensation, site clearance, and resettlement support, and the application of "new or old" is still difficult.

The investor said that in order for Tra Khuc 3 Bridge to be completed in 2024, accepted and handed over in 2025 and to have a welcome sign for the 21st Provincial Party Congress, site clearance work must be completed early.

Son Tinh District People's Committee needs to be more decisive in resolving land acquisition issues. Necessary measures need to be taken to reclaim the land and hand it over to the contractor for construction this December.

At a recent meeting to discuss solutions to promote the progress of key public investment projects, Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee to implement key projects in the province in the period of 2024-2025, requested Son Tinh district, investors and related entities to urgently resolve existing problems, speed up construction work and complete the project.
