NDO - On March 18, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu paid a courtesy call to Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party and Honorary President of the Supreme Advisory Group to the King of Cambodia.


At the reception, Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Heng Samrin congratulated Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu on his new assignment in the Kingdom of Cambodia; highly appreciated Vietnam's strong development in all fields; and expressed hope that Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu will continue to contribute to promoting bilateral relations to new heights.

Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Heng Samrin highly appreciated the good traditional relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam, considering it a priceless asset of the two countries; he believed that Vietnam, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, would successfully carry out reforms and streamline the administrative apparatus.

On this occasion, the Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party thanked Vietnam for its support and assistance to Cambodia in the past and present, including the aid of 25 million USD to build the Cambodian National Assembly Administrative Building; congratulated the success of the high-level meetings between the leaders of the two Parties, the two countries and between the three Parties of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. At the same time, Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Heng Samrin also sent his regards to the senior leaders of Vietnam and wished the Ambassador and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia a happy Khmer New Year.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Vietnam's senior leaders to Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Heng Samrin; highly appreciated Samdech's contributions to building and strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two Parties, National Assemblies and Fatherland Fronts of the two countries.

Congratulating Cambodia on its strong development in all fields, the Ambassador affirmed the leadership role of the Cambodian People's Party and Samdech Heng Samrin personally in these successes; at the same time, he pledged to make efforts to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in all fields, especially politics, defense-security, economy and people-to-people exchange.

Previously, on March 17, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu paid a courtesy visit to Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party and Supreme Advisor to the King.

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the achievements in the relationship of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability” between the two countries in recent times; affirmed to continue to make efforts to inherit and promote the results of cooperation and the good neighborliness, traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia that have been formed and continuously nurtured over the past decades.

On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu also congratulated Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Tea Banh on being appointed by the King of Cambodia to the rank of 5-star General, the highest title in the Royal Cambodian Army for his contributions to preserving, protecting and building an increasingly prosperous and beautiful Cambodia.
