Russian military sources reported on September 30 that the Russian army had inflicted heavy human and material losses on Kiev forces in the Donetsk and Krasny Liman directions.
In the Donetsk direction, the Yug Group of Forces (Russia) repelled two Ukrainian attacks near Maryinka and Avdeyevka. The group also destroyed two sabotage and reconnaissance groups near Andreyevka.
“The group’s units repelled two attacks by the assault groups of the 59th Motorized Assault Brigade and the 79th Air Assault Brigade in the Maryinka and Avdeyevka areas,” spokesman for the Southern Combat Group Georgy Minesashvili told TASS.
The group's artillery targeted six strongholds of Kiev forces near Kleshcheyevka, the spokesman added, noting that TOS-1A multiple rocket launchers attacked Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of the Predtechino region.
According to the spokesman, the Group's air force also carried out attacks on Ukrainian troops and equipment in 25 districts.
“The Group’s air force carried out strikes on personnel and military equipment in 25 districts. Ukraine lost one infantry fighting vehicle, one Msta-B artillery piece, one AN/TPQ-50 multiple rocket launcher system, five 120mm mortars, 11 vehicles and eight unmanned aerial vehicles,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, in the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled four attacks by the 63rd Mechanized Brigade (Ukraine).
The Group's air force also attacked two temporary deployment points of Kiev forces near Torskoye. In addition, more than 10 Ukrainian artillery pieces were destroyed by counterattack fire.
According to the Group's press release, Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 50 soldiers and one armored fighting vehicle.
In addition, Russian sources also shared videos showing recent Ukrainian losses in Verbov in the direction of Zaporozhye. These include airstrikes on a Ukrainian troop deployment point near Cherneshchyna in the direction of Kharkov and the destruction of a bridge used to transport supplies to Kiev forces in the direction of Kupyansk.
In addition to stepping up operations on the front, Kiev forces also continue to launch attacks on Russian territory.
Kiev forces launched a barrage of 220mm BM-27 Uragan rockets into Russia's Belgorod region early on the morning of September 30. However, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, all missiles were intercepted by air defenses.
“On the night of September 30, at 3:45 a.m. (Moscow time), an attempt by the Kiev authorities to launch an attack on targets in the Russian Federation with nine missiles was thwarted. The air defense systems on duty successfully intercepted all nine missiles in the air,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
