On the morning of January 13, the small alley leading to the house of Captain Tran Duy Hung, Deputy Chief of Police in Hue, who died while controlling a mentally ill man causing disorder on the evening of January 12, was shrouded in an atmosphere of mourning.

Mr. Tran Van Khang - Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell of Residential Group 6, An Dong Ward (Hue City) - shared that Captain Hung is very gentle, responsible, and loyal to his neighbors.
"Last night, when we heard that Mr. Hung had died, the whole neighborhood was shocked and saddened. Before that, in the morning before going to work, he greeted me happily. Now that he is lying there, everyone in the neighborhood is coming and going, each helping with the funeral," said Mr. Khang.
Captain Hung's wife, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Anh (born in 1987), is a shift accountant with a low income.

Captain Hung is the breadwinner of the family, taking care of his wife and two children. He also takes care of his elderly mother and his terminally ill brother.
Mr. Hung graduated from Hue University of Law. With the desire to follow in his late father's footsteps as a police officer, after graduating he became a police officer at An Tay Ward Police Station, Hue City.
In October 2021, Mr. Hung was transferred and appointed as Deputy Chief of Police of Thuy Van Ward, Hue City.

Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police are preparing documents related to policies for Captain Hung.
On the evening of January 12, receiving a report about a mentally ill person causing public disorder in the area, causing fear among the local people, Captain Tran Duy Hung (born in 1984) - Deputy Head of Thuy Van Ward Police (Hue City) - arrived at the scene.
While bravely controlling Nguyen Tan Sang (born in 1999, showing signs of mental illness), Captain Hung was seriously stabbed by the subject, leading to his death.
