Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attended the ceremony of attaching nameplates to construction works in Dien Bien Phu City.

On March 14, comrade Le Thanh Long - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation attended the activity of putting up nameplates for Vo Thi Sau Park and two routes Leningrad - Saint Petersburg, Roman Lazarovic Karmen in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province.

Mr. Kalganov Vyacheslav Gennadievic, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Saint Petersburg City, Russian Federation, also attended the event. Attending from Dien Bien province were comrades: Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee.

According to Resolution No. 232/ND-HDND dated March 13, 2025 of the People's Council of Dien Bien province on naming streets and public works in Dien Bien Phu city, the province has named 7 streets and 3 public works. Specifically: Roman Lazarovic Karmen Street is 250m long, connecting from Phan Dinh Giot Street to Vo Nguyen Giap Street, next to 7/5 Square in Muong Thanh ward; Leningrad - Saint Petersburg Street is 790m long, connecting from Luong The Vinh Street to 7/5 Street, in Him Lam ward; Kostas Sarantidis - Nguyen Van Lap Street is 221m long, connecting from Roman Lazarovic Karmen Street to Vo Nguyen Giap Street, in Muong Thanh ward; Henri Martin Street is 175m long, connecting from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Muong Thanh A urban residential area, in Muong Thanh ward; Raymonde Dien Street is 480m long, connecting from the riverside promenade behind Nam Rom Hotel to Be Van Dan Street next to Muong Thanh Market; Verner Shulze - Nguyen Duc Viet Street is 480m long, connecting from Vo Nguyen Giap Street next to the Provincial State Treasury to the Provincial Post Office; Bat-na Street is 600m long, connecting 7/5 Street of Him Lam resettlement area to near Dien Bien Provincial Guest House. In addition to the 7 above routes, 3 public works in Noong Bua Ward, Dien Bien Phu City have nameplates, including: Vo Thi Sau Park with an area of 4.6ha in Residential Group 10; Van Cao Park with an area of 0.67ha in Residential Group 7; Hoang Van Park with an area of 0.34ha in the area of Hoa Sen Kindergarten.

Delegates attended the activity of placing a nameplate at Vo Thi Sau Park, located in Noong Bua Ward, with an area of 4.6 hectares. The naming of the park has a profound meaning, expressing gratitude, honor and educating the young generation about revolutionary traditions. Heroic Martyr Vo Thi Sau is a symbol of patriotism, indomitable spirit and noble sacrifice of the young generation of Vietnam in the struggle for national liberation.

Leningrad - Saint Petersburg Road, 790m long, starting point adjacent to Luong The Vinh Street, ending point adjacent to 7/5 Street in the roundabout area, road cross-section 32m. This is a meaningful event, showing gratitude to the heroic city of Leningrad - Saint Petersburg, a symbol of international solidarity, which has made many contributions to the movement for peace and support for Vietnam during the resistance war; contributing to tightening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, especially the friendship between Dien Bien province and Saint Petersburg city (Russian Federation).

Roman Lazarovic Karmen Street, 250m long, starting point adjacent to Phan Dinh Giot Street, ending point adjacent to Vo Nguyen Giap Street, road cross-section 10.5m; has special meaning, to pay tribute to and honor the excellent Soviet documentary director and cameraman, who recorded precious historical moments of the 1954 Dien Bien Phu Victory and the resistance of the Vietnamese people; bringing news of the Dien Bien Phu Victory to people of all ethnic groups around the world.

Naming roads and public works in Dien Bien Phu City is an inevitable requirement in the development of an urban area as well as having an important meaning in the socio-economic development process of Dien Bien Phu City in particular and Dien Bien Province in general. This is also a way to educate the revolutionary tradition for the young generation, arouse national pride, strengthen the awareness of preserving and promoting historical values. With synchronous planning, the park and traffic system will be increasingly modern, serving the daily needs of the people, creating cultural and tourist highlights. This event marks an important step forward in building the image of a Dien Bien Phu that is both developed and modern, while preserving national identity; at the same time expanding cooperation with international friends, demonstrating the spirit of peace and deep integration.
