(Baoquangngai.vn) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien highly appreciated the results of implementing projects under the National Target Program on socio-economic development for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Tra Bong district in the past time. At the same time, he requested the locality to continue to speed up the disbursement of capital sources under the program in 2025.

On the afternoon of March 18, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien inspected Tra Bong district on the implementation and disbursement of capital for the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas (hereinafter referred to as the program).

In the period of 2021 - 2025, Tra Bong district was allocated more than 561 billion VND to implement the contents of 10 projects of the program. By February 28, 2025, the district had disbursed nearly 299 billion VND, reaching 53.2%. From this capital source, projects and sub-projects on supporting housing construction, concentrated resettlement areas, and supporting production development according to the value chain have been implemented.

Regarding the project of Investment and support for the development of precious medicinal plant growing areas in Tra Bong district, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien assessed that this is a large project, having an impact on the economy and society of ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Quang Ngai; creating motivation to change farming practices, labor and production habits; promoting the potential and strengths of medicinal plants; contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities in the province. Therefore, localities and enterprises need to speed up the implementation progress, complete the procedures to build a medicinal plant processing factory, paying attention to ensuring environmental procedures in accordance with regulations.
