Opening of Danang City Open Pickleball Tournament VTV8 Cup

The Danang City Open Pickleball Tournament VTV8 Cup is an important sporting event, marking the launch of the Danang City Pickleball Federation. This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Danang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, Chairman of the City Pickleball Federation Tran Phuoc Son said that Pickleball is a rapidly developing sport, attracting a large number of players, from young people to the elderly. Organizing the tournament not only creates a playground for competition and exchange but also contributes to promoting the mass sports movement in Da Nang.

In the coming time, the city will continue to create conditions for Pickleball to develop more widely, making this sport a part of people's sports life.

Through the tournament, the Organizing Committee hopes to create a playground for athletes to exchange, compete, strengthen solidarity; promote the development of the Pickleball movement in particular and physical education and sports in the city in general.

The 2025 VTV8 Cup Da Nang Open Pickleball Tournament took place from March 21 to 23, attracting more than 500 athletes from clubs, agencies, departments and Pickleball members at home and abroad.

Athletes compete in 8 events including: men's open doubles; mixed doubles; women's doubles 4.5; mixed doubles 5.5; men's doubles 6.5; mixed doubles 7.3; mixed doubles for officials, civil servants, and public employees; VTV8 guest doubles and referees. According to the organizers, the competitions are grouped based on the level and participants, ensuring competitiveness and appeal.

The matches were exciting.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first matches took place excitingly, attracting the attention and enthusiastic cheers of a large audience.
