Despite many controversies and mixed praise and criticism, Tran Thanh's film "The Four Guardians" is still a big hit in the 2025 Tet film season.
According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam, by noon on February 2, "The Four Guardians" had earned more than 173.4 billion VND, topping the Vietnamese box office revenue by day and including the Tet At Ty film season. The film also achieved many achievements: Vietnamese film had the highest number of pre-booked tickets with 129,000 tickets; Vietnamese film revenue exceeded 100 billion VND fastest after 3 days of release.
"The Four Guardians" brings together the actors: Miss Tieu Vy, Miss Ky Duyen, Quoc Anh, Le Duong Bao Lam, Le Giang, Uyen An, Tran Thanh..., released in theaters from January 29. The film received many opinions that it was a "step back" for Tran Thanh in his career compared to his previous works because the script was bland, the comedy was noisy, and left no impression on the audience when they left the theater. However, some other audiences felt the story, thinking that the film was suitable for the psychology of young people.

Thu Trang's work "The Billion Dollar Kiss" holds the second position with a revenue of more than 32 billion VND to date. The film brings together the cast: Thu Trang, Doan Thien An, Ma Ran Do, Le Xuan Tien. The work conveys the message of sisterhood and love on a story that intertwines humor and emotion.
The third film on the list is "Love by mistake for a best friend", a Vietnamese adaptation of the Thai film "Friendzone", directed by Nguyen Quang Dung - Diep The Vinh. The film stars Kaity Nguyen, Tran Ngoc Vang, Thanh Son... The film has currently earned more than 9.2 billion VND.
In addition to the 3 Vietnamese films leading the box office rankings, the films ranked next in the top 5 include: "Paddington: The Adventure of the Bear" and "The Thousand Pound Heist".
Meanwhile, this year's Tet, the stages are competing fiercely, selecting plays, especially inviting many star actors. Therefore, many viewers booked tickets for the theater stages in Ho Chi Minh City during the Tet At Ty.

Plays with a strong tragic character such as "Short and Long Hair" (inspired by the novel "Tat Lua Long"), "Rau Ram O Lai", "Bach Hai Duong", "Nua Doi Huong Phan", "Con Me Cuoi Cuoi"... at Hoang Thai Thanh Stage sold out briskly. Tragi-comedies such as: "Tia oi, ma dia" (IDECAF Drama Theater), "Dut thong to sag" (Hong Van Drama Theater), "Ong gia doan lo-to" (Youth World Theater), "Dep bat dung" (Ho Chi Minh City Small Stage Drama Theater)... also sold many tickets.
Plays with spiritual and mysterious colors such as: "The Silent Room", "The Ghost Wife" (Hong Van Drama Stage), "Escape Room: The Haunted House", "The Ghost Heart" (Youth World Stage)... also attract audiences.
This year, IDECAF Theater debuted the plays "Luong Son Ba - Chuc Anh Dai Ngoai Truyen" and "What's fun, we prioritize". Thien Dang Theater had the play "13 Duc Thay - Duc Thay 13" which sold tickets "like hotcakes". Truong Hung Minh Theater alone exploited the theme of immortality and paranormal stories in the play "Chan Dong Tam Gioi" which also created a ticket fever.
