Previously, on the morning of September 22, baby T. (from Soc Trang province) had a high fever, a sore nose with a runny nose, so his family took him to Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital for treatment.
Through examination and imaging diagnosis, hospital doctors discovered a radiopaque foreign object in the baby's right nasal cavity.
The team of ENT specialists, in collaboration with the anesthesiologist, performed surgery to remove the foreign object from the baby using an endoscope under intravenous anesthesia. The foreign object removed from baby T.'s nose was a 15mm diameter battery.

Doctor Nguyen Hong Tru, Head of the ENT Clinic, Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital, said that when the battery was removed, it was nearly 80% burnt. If it was not treated promptly, the patient's life would be in danger. After the surgery, baby T. was awake, no longer had a fever, no pain, and no more runny nose.
