(kontumtv.vn) – “A hundred times easier without the people, we can endure – A thousand times harder, we can complete” – imbued with the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh, in recent times , Sa Thay district has done a good job of mobilizing the people’s strength to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Thanks to that , many temporary houses have been replaced with new, more solid and spacious houses, contributing to helping poor households settle down and make a living.

After more than 2 months of implementation, the house of more than 50 square meters with 1 living room, 2 bedrooms of Mrs. Y Phung's family in Kleng Village, Sa Thay town has been completed. The total cost of building the house is 130 million VND; of which, the State supported 60 million VND, the family contributed 70 million VND. Mrs. Y Phung happily said: " I thank the State, if the State did not support, I would not have a house, living in a small, temporary house, the State supports me very much. I try to work to have money to raise my children, thank the State very much."

Along with promoting and arousing the people's tradition of self-reliance in eliminating temporary houses, Sa Thay district has done a good job of propaganda and mobilizing people to actively support the elimination of temporary houses. A typical example is Ro Koi commune. By the end of 2024, the commune still had 39 households living in temporary and dilapidated houses. The locality has done a good job of propaganda and mobilizing families, clans, relatives and the community to promote the tradition of "Mutual love", joining hands to support families with cash, construction materials, and construction days; families have contributed more than 2.1 billion VND. To date, 39 households have started building houses, of which 27 have completed. Mr. Mai Nhu Nam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ro Koi commune, said: "People have their own financial resources, or borrowed additional funds from the Social Policy Bank to add to the cost. They do not rely on the state; They were so happy that some families contributed, some contributed nearly 200 million; some families with special difficulties contributed 30-50 million to build houses. This is a driving force to promote awareness in the people to change their mindset of not relying on the state."

To be proactive in the work of eliminating temporary houses, striving to complete the elimination of temporary houses by the end of March 2025, Sa Thay district has temporarily allocated more than 2.7 billion VND from the mobilized funds of the province, the district and regular spending savings; at the same time, mobilized households to contribute labor days and funds to build and repair houses with a total amount of more than 7 billion VND. Mr. Duong Quang Phuc - Chairman of Sa Thay District People's Committee, said: " The Party and the government have mobilized organizations and people to join hands to build decent houses for the people. In addition to the support of the state, people have proactively contributed funds and their own working days to build houses for themselves. So people are very happy, that gives people confidence to rise up in life, to be self-reliant and self-reliant, to take care of their own lives."

As of February 14, 2025, Sa Thay district has eliminated 88/346 temporary and dilapidated houses. Currently, localities are constructing and repairing 139 houses; of which, 101 new houses are being built and 38 houses are being repaired. The houses of gratitude built with the support of the State, all levels of sectors, all classes of people and the self-reliance of the people have contributed to helping hundreds of households overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives./.
