In order to suit the mining conditions of each mine, contribute to promoting production, and improving safety factors, in recent years, the work of promoting technical innovation and rationalizing production has always been identified by units of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) as a key factor in ensuring the maintenance, stability, and development of mines.
To suit the mining conditions, Mining Workshop 2, Mao Khe Coal Company has improved some designs of the self-propelled drilling machine, such as installing hydraulic pipe shields, re-manufacturing the beam balancing system; rearranging the hydraulic pipes. Through the improvement, the productivity of the self-propelled drilling machine has increased by over 130%... This is just one of many initiatives and technical improvements that have been successfully applied in practice by departments, divisions, and workshops of Mao Khe Coal Company, thereby contributing to improving production efficiency.
As an underground coal mining unit in difficult conditions, especially related to mine gas and geology, therefore, along with efforts in production, Mao Khe Coal Company always identifies promoting initiatives and technical improvements as one of the important solutions to increase productivity and improve safety.
The Company's innovative topics focus on improving equipment to increase productivity and product quality; improving tools, increasing equipment life; rationalizing production lines to save costs; improving working conditions for workers. Thanks to promoting technical innovation initiatives, the Company has always successfully completed its production and business tasks. In the first 7 months of 2024 alone, the Company produced nearly 1.5 million tons of coal, with an average income of over 20 million VND/month for miners.
Mr. Ngo Van Giap, Deputy Head of Mining Technology Department, Mao Khe Coal Company, said: Before having initiatives and technical improvements, workers propose ideas. From those ideas, the Company establishes a Council consisting of departments and divisions to check and evaluate whether the idea can be put into technical improvements or not. Then, the Company's Science and Technology Fund is used to apply that idea to become an initiative and technical improvement.
Not only at Mao Khe Coal Company, but also in all units of TKV, there is a common spirit of competition in the movement to promote initiatives and technical improvements.
As the core force in emulation movements, the Coal Industry's youth have effectively promoted many movements, notably the "Creative Youth" movement with many initiatives, ideas, projects, models, scientific research topics... In the past 2 years, the Coal Industry's youth have had more than 3,000 technical innovation initiatives applied to production practices, operations and management at units with a profit value of over 93 billion VND; 81 scientific research topics with a value of 75.51 billion VND. At the same time, maintaining 11 models of clubs, youth science and technology committees with more than 400 innovation support groups. Thanks to the application of initiatives, creative solutions, innovation in mechanization, automation, and computerization technology, labor productivity has been increased, and the Group's revenue has increased by tens of percent year on year. There are many projects and initiatives on technical innovation and production rationalization that have been researched and applied by cadres, union members and workers at production sites, contributing to saving production costs, investment costs for technological innovation, reducing prices and improving product quality.
