Within the framework of the working trip accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the G20 Summit in Brazil from November 16-19, Mr. Tran Binh Minh, Member of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and member units of the Group/units visited and worked at the Brazilian National Oil and Gas Group (Petrobras).
Attending the meeting were representatives of the leaders of the specialized departments/Group Office, representatives of the leaders of member units: Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP), PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation - Joint Stock Company (PVFCCo) and PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC).
Welcoming the delegation, on the Petrobras side, there was Ms. Magda Chambriard, President of Petrobras; along with the President's Advisor, Directors of the fields: exploration and exploitation, industrial processes of Petrobras...
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Binh Minh - Member of the Board of Directors of PetroVietnam introduced to Petrobras leaders an overview of PetroVietnam's operations, key areas as well as shared some future development orientations.

PetroVietnam Board of Directors member, Mr. Tran Binh Minh, hopes that through the exchange, along with the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil, the development cooperation in the field of energy and oil and gas between PetroVietnam and Petrobras will achieve many positive results in the coming time, opening a period of friendly cooperation between the two countries and the two Groups.
Petrobras is one of the world’s largest oil and gas producers. With nearly 50 years of experience in developing Brazil’s offshore basins, Petrobras’s deepwater and ultra-deepwater exploration and production technology is a strength, even leading the world in this segment. The company’s priority is to operate at low costs and with a low carbon footprint, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development for a just energy transition.
Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras is shifting its strategy to diversify its portfolio, focusing on assets with better returns. Reserve replacement, new frontiers and increased gas supplies are all pillars of its new exploration and production strategy. Petrobras is currently reviewing its portfolio to seek synergies and economic diversification, and is considering new areas of exploration.

In the first 9 months of 2024, PetroVietnam's total revenue is estimated at VND 736,500 billion, completing 100% of the annual plan, reaching the target 3 months ahead of schedule, up 12% over the same period in 2023; the Group's total state budget contribution is estimated at VND 115,200 billion; fully completing 6/6 financial targets for the whole year 2024 according to the plan assigned by the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and the Board of Members, reaching the target 3-5 months ahead of schedule. Of which, 5/6 growth targets are from 9-31%: the Group's total revenue increases by 12%; the Group's total state budget contribution increases by 9%; consolidated revenue increases by 14%.
PetroVietnam has now mastered advanced technology and science, and built a complete and synchronous oil and gas industry system from oil and gas exploration and exploitation to the development of gas - electricity - processing industry and high-quality oil and gas services. In which, the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation is the core field, training a large and highly qualified oil and gas workforce.
