Pax Thien - Angelina Jolie's 19-year-old son - helps his mother build the upcoming fashion brand Atelier Jolie.
The Vietnamese-American man, his mother and younger sister - Zahara - participated in a photo shoot for Vogue magazine to promote the fashion brand launched in November. Backstage, Pax Thien held a camera to take his own photos. He also made a video of the photo shoot for Vogue magazine.
In an interview published on September 27, Angelina Jolie said that during the process of building the company, Pax Thien and Zahara participated and supported their mother a lot. Pax Thien researched the design to decorate the office, Jolie and Zahara found the location.
While taking the photo, Jolie showed Vogue reporters a canvas with the Atelier Jolie logo spray-painted in white and expressed pride: "That's my son experimenting."
Pax Thien has recently pursued mixed media and digital visual art, under the name Embtto. Pax’s works are abstract, created from multiple media or materials. Since 2017, Pax has assisted his mother on the set of First They Killed My Father (2017) in Cambodia. He helped the crew capture scenes and behind-the-scenes activities.

Atelier Jolie includes tailoring and recycling services, an artist gallery and a cafe in partnership with a refugee organization. The star said she wanted to create a creative space with people she trusts, to rediscover herself and look to the future.
In Vogue , Jolie said that her children are her source of motivation and help her overcome difficult times: "I've been feeling a bit bored lately. In some ways, I've lost myself in the past 10 years. My children and I have healed and affirmed ourselves together. Life changed completely when I became a mother at the age of 26. Having children has saved me and taught me a different way of living. I could have been worse if it weren't for my desire to live for my children. I hope I can be a safe and stable support for them."
