On October 9, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced that the 2023 Nobel Prize in Economics went to Harvard University Professor Claudia Goldin, for her research on the role of women in the workforce.
According to the Nobel Committee, American economist Goldin, 77, is the first person to provide a comprehensive view of women's earnings and contributions to the labor market. Her research not only highlights trends but also goes straight to the root causes of gender inequality.
