After nearly a year and a half of construction, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project, component 3, section through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is being paved with the first asphalt pavements, striving to open to technical traffic in April 2025.
The entire Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, nearly 54km long, was started in mid-June 2023, with a scale of 4-6 lanes, with a total investment of more than 17,800 billion VND.
Dong Nai province is the investor of component project 1 with a length of 16km, while component project 2 with a length of 18.2km is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Transport. Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is implementing component project 3 with a length of 19.5km, with a total investment of nearly 5,000 billion VND.
The Component 3 expressway project through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has its starting point at Km34+200 connecting the Component 2 project through Dong Nai province, and its ending point at Km53+700 intersecting with National Highway 56 - the bypass of Ba Ria city.
In the photo is the starting point of component project 3, adjacent to the 2-door underpass through Phuoc Binh 7 Group road connecting Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. This section has a scale of 4 complete lanes, 2 emergency lanes, and a roadbed width of 24.75-27m.
The project was cleared according to the scale of a complete 6-lane highway, with an average width of about 67m. The joint venture of contractors Son Hai Group Co., Ltd., Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company and 703 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company constructed this project.
According to VietNamNet reporters on the afternoon of November 15, at the construction site of the expressway project through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, hundreds of workers along with many equipment and vehicles urgently constructed bridges, underpasses, and rolled roadbeds... in quite hot weather conditions.
Workers are reinforcing the lane divider bars so that the asphalt will not spill out when it is laid. The first layer of asphalt is poured 10cm higher.
At the point near the end of the intersection with National Highway 56 through Ba Ria City, the first semi-hollow asphalt pavements are being constructed by the 703 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company. From above, the asphalt road is nestled in the middle of rice fields, creating a beautiful scene.
Along the entire route, there are 11 bridges and 1 underpass for people, simultaneously implemented by the consortium of 3 contractors with more than 15 construction teams, including about 225 equipment and 415 personnel. Up to this point, the cumulative volume of completed work has reached about 50%, the construction value of the contract has reached about 42%. According to the latest report of the Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port Area Traffic Project Management Board (investor), up to now, the organic dredging of the road has been completed; the K95, K98 earth filling and crushed stone grading have been basically completed; 79/80 culvert locations across the road have been completed; 0.8/19.5km of semi-hollow asphalt concrete has been constructed.
The 14.2km section of the route, constructed by Son Hai Group Co., Ltd., is expected to begin paving in the next few days. Previously, this section had been watered with adhesive.
The investor said that the construction of component 3 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is ensuring progress; striving to open to technical traffic on April 30, 2025; completing construction, organizing acceptance and putting into use in September 2025.
According to the plan, in 2024, the main bridges will be basically completed, the remaining bridges will have their piers and piers completed. As for the road section, the construction of semi-hollow asphalt concrete will reach 15/19.5km.
While the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project component 3 is being constructed on schedule, the remaining 2 component projects passing through Dong Nai, with a total length of 34km, are being delayed due to lack of land and filling materials.
